Not true.

Although it is not likely they can still avoid the drop with a good run in their twelve remaining games.

Mathematically possible, but I just can't see who they're going to beat to gain enough points:

Burnley v Pompey - Doubt it, but possible draw
Pompey v Birmingham City - Doubt it, but possible draw
Liverpool v Pompey - No chance
Pompey v Hull City Possoble win, but likely draw
Pompey v Chelsea - No chance
Tottenham Hotspur v Pompey - No chance
Pompey v Blackburn Rovers - Possible draw
Wigan Athletic v Pompey Possible win depending on which Wigan turns up, but likely draw/loss
Pompey v Aston Villa - No chance
Bolton Wanderers v Pompey - No chance
Pompey v Wolverhampton Wanderers - Possible, but likely draw
Everton v Pompey - No chance

Not many points there, despite it not being the hardest of runs home. They'll go down without doubt.

Going to the Villa game today JTC?

Up the Clarets - they could do Spurs a big favour today.

GET IN!!!!!

Clarets 1-0 up on 10 mins.

Their 1st away goal in 9 hours

Beautiful pass by Nugent to Fletcher for an easy tap in that even he couldn't stuff up.

Great goal celebration too. Fletcher ran over to nugent, whacked him on the head lit he had a hammer, then started flapping his arms like he was doing a chicken dance. Egg before the chicken maybe? Funny original celebration.

Come on you Clarets!!!!!!!

They did this same celebration when they scored against the hammers, my burnley friend was saying they have been doing this every goal since Coyle left, not sure if there is anything in that but it is very funny.

Yes Burnley played well in first half. Wheels fell off in second tho. Downing played and scored well was so close to the hatrick in Five minutes  . Would have rivaled R Fowlers against Arsenal that he did in four minutes.

Accrington (Stanley) is actually closer to Burnley than either of Preston or Blackburn.

But the commentator is wrong - Blackburn is closer to Burnley than Preston. When you're in Burnley, you can smell the filth from Blackburn it's that close.

Burnley down 0-1 at half time, so I put my Clarets socks on and they rescued a point!

3 would have been far handier. Maybe JTC needs to send me some Clarets jocks too! ;)

Laws will take the clarets down.

The loss to b4st4rds was a disgrace although the penlty as a dive. He even admitted it in the opera syinghe was expecting a yellow for diving and not a penlty

Losing to Pompey and then wolves will be the killer punch = ccc football next seson

No ambition from the board

Gave the box to my son and his mates
Just couldn't be arsed going and went away for the weekend
5 - 0 by half time what a ******* joke

Perversely, we are no worse off than we were before the kick off. GD took a bit of a hammering but we already had the worst in the division anyway.
Wolves, hull both lostand depending on the hammers game, we could be in the same position as Friday night

Hull away next week, hopefully our 1st away win (haa) then home wins over spurs and Liverpool will see us to safety

I really have to stop this afternoon boozing lol

West Ham got a point away at Everton so things slightly worse for the clarets.

Agree
That point for west ham is a real killer with our horrendous -gd we would need two wins to get out of trouble and I can't see that happening

Hull
Clarets
Pompey

Look the likeliest 3 but hull under dowie at least seem to be giving it a got
Hammers are hot and cold so very unpredictable
BURNLEY just don't seem to have any fight

Kevin McDonald - what a legend.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010 ... sjudgement

Burnley have fined their midfielder Kevin McDonald after he left Turf Moor without permission during Saturday's defeat by Manchester City and watched the second half of their 6-1 drubbing in the pub.

The Scotland Under-21 international today issued a formal apology for his "disrespectful" behaviour against City having been punished by the manager, Brian Laws, for walking out of the stadium at half-time. McDonald was substituted at the interval with his side trailing 5-0 but, rather than remain at Turf Moor for the second half, joined some friends in a nearby public house as Burnley slumped to their seventh defeat in eight games.

"I now realise it was naive, disrespectful and totally wrong of me to leave the ground at half-time on Saturday," said the 21-year-old, a £500,000 signing from Dundee. "It was a gross misjudgement and instead I should have remained at Turf Moor to support my club and team-mates.

"I acknowledge that I also showed a serious lack of respect to all the fans who were at the ground and who pay good money to watch their team play. I would like to apologise to the players, management and supporters and I have accepted my punishment. In closing, I would like to reassure all supporters that I am fully committed to helping the team as we fight to stay in the Premier League."
