Following on from my post of the 20th Sep, where there wer 18 goals scored in the last ten minutes, well within 2 weeks that tally has nearly doubled, to 29. I guess the Mancs derby has contributed significantly to that total, but it just goes to show that it's weel worthwhile staying on until the final whistle as 29 goals represents nearly 155 of the total goals scored in the EPL.

I thought I'd update this gem of a thread.

Best Passers:

Passers Team Passes Accuracy
Mascherano Liverpool 848 87%
Essien Chelsea 839 88%
Fabregas Arsenal 753 82%
Lucas Liverpool 712 87%  - Pity his headers don't have the same accuracy % for all you poo fans.
Huddlestone Tottenham 684 78%

Bit hard to read in this format, but this shows each side with their Goals, Total Shots, Shots On Target, Shot Accuracy and Successful Passes.

Team Goals Shots On Target Shot Accuracy Succ Passes
Arsenal 36 171 91 53% 4862
Aston Villa 21 109 51 47% 3015
Birmingham 11 104 50 48% 2962
Blackburn 16 122 54 44% 2397
Bolton 15 137 52 38% 2090
Burnley 16 106 46 43% 3225
Chelsea 33 230 108 47% 5582
Everton 15 140 65 46% 3294
Fulham 14 122 54 44% 3659
Hull 13 94 41 44% 2537
Liverpool 29 197 89 45% 5515
Man City 23 128 67 52% 3676
Man Utd 26 175 79 45% 5359
Portsmouth 10 145 50 34% 3369
Stoke 13 105 38 36% 2024
Sunderland 21 119 52 44% 2652
Tottenham 32 178 88 49% 4179
West Ham 19 161 72 45% 4072
Wigan 14 151 71 47% 3978
Wolves 12 117 42 36% 2885

Chelski have a few pings goal!!! The Gooners are most accurate, while Stoke, Pompey and Wolves are deplorable.

Some interesting other stats:

Category Player/Team Total
Top Shooter Didier Drogba (Chelsea) 59
Top Passer Javier Mascherano (Liverpool) 848
Top Tackler Hendry Thomas (Wigan) 69
Most Dribbles & Runs Shaun Wright-Phillips (Man City) 84
Most Crosses Andy Reid (Sunderland) 130 Following on from the Sunderland thread, you can add andy reid to the list of performers alongside Bent and Bruce at the Black Cats this season. His end product has been great which IMO has come from his new fitness ,level and distinct lack of a beer gut.
Most Offsides Darren Bent (Sunderland) 24
Most Fouls Kevin Davies (Bolton) 46
Team with most fouls Aston Villa 199
Team with most shots Chelsea 230

Whilst Rochdale are currently losing 3 - 0 away to Torquay, they are odds on to win promotion from the 4th division. It will be only the second time in the clubs history that they have won promotion from the bottom tier, last time being 1969, which lasted for 5 years before relegation.

So when you think your club is crap, spare a thought for a spotland fan.

To answer Bullgogs question on another thread, there has never been a year when London clubs make up 4 of the top 5. In fact London clubs as a whole aren't that successful.

Apart from Arsenal and Spurs and Celsea, no other london club has won the title and Chelsea had won it only once, way back in 1955, prior to romans rubles.

The nearest any other London club has come was (believe it or not) Crystal Palace who finished who finished 3rd in 90/91 season, West Ham (3rd) in 84/85 season and QPR who finished 2nd in the 75/76 season.

Lancashire (the north west) has been by far the most productive region for producing champions, with Liverpool and United both winning 18 titles, Everton 9, b4st4rds 3, clarets. PNE and City 2 each. But it is the number of times that a Lancashire club has occupied the top 2.

the last time lancashire had a top 3 was 1967/8 season when it finished City, United, Liverpool in a 1,2,3.

Just a footnote to my post on the FA Cup thread.

Clubs suffering relegation within a season of appearing in the final are not as numerous as I first thought.

Southampton finalists 02/03 relegated 04/05
Middlesboro finalist 96/97 relegated 96/97
Nottm Forest finalists 90/91 relegated 92/93
Brighton & H finalists 82/83 relegated 82/83
Man City finalists 80/81 relegated 82/83

On the flip side clubs winning promotion within a season of appearing in a final are more numerous.

Sheff Wed finalists 92/93 promoted 91/92
Sunderland finalists 91/92 promoted 91/92
Crystal P finalists 89/90 promoted 88/89
Watford finalists 82/83 promoted 81/82
QPR finalists 81/82 promoted 82/83
West Ham finalists 79/80 promoted 80/81
Man U finalists 75/76 promoted 74/75

Here's something that might come as a surprise. Burnley's away record hasn't been, what you might say, dominant this year but on current form (the last 6 games) they are only below Liverpool on goal difference with pool drawing 3 and losing 3.
