Wigan's players are to personally refund hundreds of supporters who bought tickets from the club for the 9-1 hammering at Tottenham on Sunday.
The maximum total pay-out to fans who bought tickets at the DW Stadium will be over £15,000, BBC Sport understands.
"We feel that as a group of players we badly let down our supporters," said Wigan captain Mario Melchiot via the official club website.
"This is a gesture we have to make and pay them back for their loyalty."

Definitely agree with the last point!
I actually think it's a great gesture by the players. They earn silly amounts. Many earn double or triple per week, what the average punter earns per year. After said punters have basically given up their weekend, paid 30 odd quid for a match ticket, 50 quid to get to/from the game and possibly even paid 50-100 quid to stay in London for the night, to have your team put in a performance like that is a slap in the face.
Good form by the Wigan players with this guesture. But you're also right in that they need to pull the finger out and play their asses off for the rest of the season after a performance like that.

Fair comment but I still feel like it's a bit of a cop out by the club. It's almost as though they think that by giving the fans their money back all is forgiven and that you can put a price on a poor performance.
Travelling fans pay for tickets to watch their side because they love their team. Any self respecting fan wouldn't accept a refund.

I do agree with that, but I'd take the refund!!!![]()
It's like when fans whose team has lost the first 5 or 6 games at the start of the season demonstrate against the manager/owner by running on the pitch and tearing up their season ticket and membership.
Always cracks me right up!

Last game doesn't count JTC!
Doing it Norwich style is classic.
