If Fab really wants to go whats the gain in keeping him, his performances will more than likely drop if he doesn't want to be at the club.

The money made from the transfer will also help pay for a quality replacement.

KOSCIELNY SEALS GUNNERS SWITCH

Barclays Prem Winner 2010/11 Win Outright: Arsenal 7/1

Arsenal have signed defender Laurent Koscielny from French side Lorient. The 24-year-old moves to north London on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had tracked Koscielny, who is eligible to play international football for France and Poland, for some time as he impressed in Ligue 1.

And Koscielny jumped at the chance to link up with his countryman for the chance to bolster a defence which conceded 41 league goals last term.

From the Bolton thread:
johntheclaret wrote:It was a good move last year, but Wenger might not be so accomodating this year as Wilshire should play a bigger part in his plans. Especially if Fabregas does make the move to Spain.

Personally, on the Fabregas move, the world cup might have just got in the way of that unless they have been negotiating behind the scenes.?

Barcelona have revealed they have financial difficulties, and did not make a player payment last month.

So after having forked out a huge amount for Villa, it's hard to see them handing over 50m quid for Fabregas.

Yeah true. Here's the Sun's take on it ;)

Fab still on for Barce-loaner

CESC FABREGAS could still be heading to Barcelona - despite the Spanish giants needing a massive bank loan to pay players' wages.
New Barca president Sandro Rosell insists Barca can afford the £35million transfer fee for the Arsenal midfielder.

But the club are going cap in hand to Spanish banks asking for a £135m loan.

Rosell admitted: "The squad were supposed to be paid at the end of last month and still haven't been."

This should be put in the "Let's make a story where there isn't one" file, or "Never let the facts get in the way of a good story"

Cesc quiet over future
Gunners skipper refuses to discuss potential Barca move

Midfield ace Cesc Fabregas is remaining coy on his club future following Spain's World Cup triumph on Sunday.
The Arsenal captain's value no doubt soared after he was brought on as a substitute in the late stages of Spain's decider against Holland to devastating effect.
After the 23-year-old had tested Dutch goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg, he then fed Andres Iniesta with a cushioned pass to set up the extra-time winner.
Fabregas, who has five years remaining on his Emirates contract, has been strongly linked with a move back to his boyhood club Barcelona, with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger having already turned down a €35million (£30m) offer for the midfielder.
But the Gunners skipper, who has expressed his desire to make a Camp Nou comeback, is keeping his cards close to his chest on whether the switch will materialise.
"All I can say is that this (World Cup victory) is for all the Arsenal players and fans, they are a world-class club," said Fabregas after Spain's 1-0 victory.
"I am an Arsenal player and proud to be."
