After the news of the great mans retirement thought he deserved his on thread.

No doubt a great stalwart for United.
But his rash, some might call reckless, tackles and resulting red cards didn't do his team any favours.

United still managed to win a trophy or two with Scholes in the team so he didn't let his side down that badly really. ;)

A legend of the game and England would have loved to have had him in their team for at least the 2006 World Cup anyway.

I guess it depends on who you can throw on from the bench. United have been short on star quality in that department for years ;)
