Well if Jase can.........

Season so far.

Chairman kilby wants out. Flood, who has no money will buy out kilby's shares. where the doe is coming from, who only knows.

Club is broke already apparently, despite £12m from the parachute payments and £7m from the sale of that hack Fletcher to Wolves last season, boss howe has been told he must off-load players if he wants to sign anyone.

Thompson gone to St Mirren
Ex club captain Carlisle gone to PNE on a year long loan.
Chelsea loanee, Jack Cork has signed for Southampton.
McCann signed 2 year deal after stalling for most of the summer.
Leon Cort back at Burnley after year long loan to PNE. So we swap Carlisle for Cort...sheesh. cort was signed on a 4 year deal on big money so PNE can't afford him. But why do we have to suffer him................

Ben Mee has signed on a year long loan from Man City. Big, quick centrehalf, England under 21 and reserves captain at City. Should be a good pick up.

Woohoo. Iwelumo signs for Watford.

Not sure how much we had to pay them as the fee was undisclosed.

Patterson constantly linked with pompey. Cotterill has made two offers but both turned down. Burnley say Pato is absolutely not for sale, so expect to see him at Portsmouth before the big kick-off

Freindlies so far.

Clarets beat Altrincham 4-2 after being 3-0 up at half time, we brought on Cort to strengthen the back four

Alex MacDonald on the scoresheet for Burnley, along with Eagles, Iwelumo and Patterson

Good to see Pato back to fitness. Paired with Jay Rod up front and rotated with Austin, could be a good combination.

Comfortably beat Bury 3-0 at Gigg Lane. Alex Macdonald and Iwelumo both scoring again, and one for Charlie austin in his 1st game back since injury.

Eagles missed a penalty, which brings me to Grezza. What the hell happened there then? Grezza signs for another 12 months and the next minute he is released by mutual agreement. was linked with a couple of managerial posts, specifically Bury, but nothing materialised and he is now training with Bolton.

Watch out for Alex Macdonald this season. He will be a gun, given the chance. at least up until January when he'll get sold to a bigger Champoinship club who won'y play him for the rest of the season.

Burnley piss off 200 seson ticket holders by telling them they have to move to make way for the "hoped for" take up of ftickets for the new exec club. Burnley are trying to adjust the cost structure in readiness for the new rules to afect the Championship in 2013. EPL get the same new rules in 2015.....now that will be fun.

Clarets has made their 2nd signing.....16yo New Zealander Cameron Howelson on a two year scholarship. Howelson was part of the U17 squad that reached the last 16 of the World Cup finals in Mexico this summer.

Freindly....

Bristol City 2 - 0 Burnley. Business as usual then.

Clarets chasing rochdale striker Chris O'Grady

Oh and some couple have named their sprog after 14 members of the Burnley squad.

Ironically, the couple are called Stephen and Amanda PRESTON.

The poor littel buggars full name is Jay Alexander Bikey Carlisle Duff Elliot Fox Iwelumo Marney Mears Paterson Thompson Wallace Preston.

Not bad considering Alexander, Carlisle, Iwelumo and Thompson are no longer at the club.

Shoulda just stuck to Carlisle Preston.

Well that about sums up our ambition
Eagles and Mears both off to Bolton for £3m the pair.
We paid £1.25m for Eagles and £500k for Mears so about £1m profit on the deal, less the cost in wages etc over the last two years.

Eagles form is a bit hit and miss but he was by far the most creative player we had and Mears is are only decent right back.

Many unhappy clarets asking for their season ticket money back

Still no cofirmation of Eagles and Mears going but we have signed Keiran Trippier, a full back from Man City on a 12 month loan.
Not sure how good he is but he is an England U21 and just signed a 3 year deal with City.
I expect him to fill in where Mears was.

What's your prediction for this season JTC?
Mid-table for Burnley? Or can they push toward a playoff spot?

Without being a pessimist I'd put the clarets mid table at best.
I can see what Howe is trying to do but we have lost too many without really replacing them.
Rumours are that both Bikey and Elloitt will be gonski before season start.
On the upside young Alex MacDonald has proved a revelation through the pre-season but Birmingham, Leicester, WHUFC et all are different prospects than Torquay Utd.

What is more worrying are the constant rumours about the lack of cash. We came down from the EPL debt free and apparently set up for 10 years but inside 12 months we're broke

Last nights result

Oldham 0-0 Burnley

Biggest test is on Saturday at home to the cats. I'm sure they will put most of their summer signings on show.

I've seen this noted on a General Football thread in the Yid forum I watch.

Nobody can unerstand how the Clarets have gone from flushed to f***ed so quickly. Do you think somthing a bit untoward has been going on JTC?

And that Preston family that named their kids after the clarets squad should jog on and support Bolton!

I know all the directors took their "loans" back as soon as the money came in but it doesn't explain what the he'll happen to the £12m parachute payment or the £7m we got for Fletcher.

I know Flood had to pay back loans from his company when it went tits up.

2 more years after this and the payments stop. That's when we are really ****** and you can expect to see us in League 1.

What pisses me off most is we just wasted the chance to get back up last year. Pompey and Hull were both basket cases, and we managed to keep most of the squad together. A bit of investment in what I think was the weakest CCC in years and we could easily have gone straight back up

Last friendly before the big kick off

BURNLEY 1-0 Sunderland

Read it and weep Brucey. 7 big money signings and flop at the clarets
Jay Rod on target for BURNLEY and by all accounts our new look back 4 managed it easy.
