Manchester United Season 2012-13

Postby Jim05 » Thu May 17, 2012 9:00 pm

Michael Owen has not been offered a new contract.
Park Ji-Sun looks to be on his way out and Nani is being shopped around.
Probably need to get rid of another 6 or 7 and bring in fresh blood, time for Evra and Rio to go

For the first time in a very long time Man U head into a season not being the best team in their city!

I expect a reaction but they are going to have to spend a fair bit just to stay in reach of Man City especially considering Scholes and Giggs played important roles and once again another year older eventually it will take its toll.

If Chelsea miss out on Champions League then this will impact Man U as i think Ambrovich will be forced to go on a huge spending spree to get them back there.

Very Early prediction 2-3

Yeah cant see us winning it next season, would expect Shiteh to win the next couple at least.
Think we finish runners up, this was our worst squad ever in the EPL and we lost on goal differance so you never know what can happen.
Shiteh has offered Zlatan Ibrahimivic a massive deal that would make him the highest paid player in the EPL, we can simply not match that. What United have done better than anyone else is bring through kids and spot unknowns like Ronaldo, Hernandez, Nani. We should get some good money for Berbatov

Reported that United are tabling a £250,000/week deal for RVP which is what Shiteh are offering. Arsenal are offering £130,000/week in the new deal.
Have heard that the Glazers have offered to spend £150m this transfer period. Obviously will be hoping for the Berbatov to Lazio deal to happen, that should net £20-30m

RVP got many suitors outside of England? If he can get similar coin elsewhere I'd be surprised to see him join another EPL club (provided he's a chance to leave Arsenal at all)

The Glazers are due a spend up, might just work at MU due to Fergie, but any club other than Man U or Chelsea looking to break the bank will most likely waste their coin IMHO.

Just the usuals, Barca, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Juve.
Dont think he will stay in EPL if he leaves Arsenal. Arsenal have already stated they will never allow another player to go to Shiteh

Joined on a free transfer and signed a pay as you play contract. Would have loved to see more of him but he did manage to get an EPL champions medal which he could never get at Liverpool ;)

I think Arsenal (Arsene Wenger) has been by far the best at that!

United has played far more kids than Arsenal. Some of United's titles were won with a team full of United Youth players who were brought up through the club, Arsenal on the other hand have mainly brought in foreign players in the past, didnt they field sides that didnt have an English player amongst them?
Wenger and Fergie are both good at spotting unknowns but i reckon we have the edge slightly in that department

Yes true both were unknowns.
I was just thinking Schmeichel, Solskjaer, Ronaldo and Nani are a few that were unknowns and cost us stuff all, can probably throw in Cantona aswell who cost us close to nothing.
3 of those guys made the EPL all time team.
Reckon its a tight one.
Well and truly have you covered on the kids though :)
