I think Solskjaer expected to be a midas-touch manager thinking he could drag Cardiff to Premiership survival through his reputation as a player. Once the Bluebirds went down it was doubtful he'd have the grit and motivation for a tough Championship campaign.

If he had a talent-laden side he'd probably go OK but it takes a special type of manager to get a side short on quality punching above its weight.

Yep very good manager is sean dyche

Would it be a fair assessment that Dyche is probably the kind of manager who is gonna thrive more at a smaller low budget club rather than say an Everton, Tottenham type club.

Look on the bright side Marty. At least you don't have a conflict with who to barrack when Utd meet Cardiff

Forest have a tendancy in recent seasons to have long losing streaks which have hurt their chances on gaining auto promotion.
Hopefully this year is different.

This season is no different, 10 games without a win.
Another year in the championship.

The Rams are looking OK...playing some nice Football.

Ipswich the main challenge at the moment.

The Cherries are surprising....

A few of the "bigger" name clubs in the league are struggling

Blackpool look gawn

Wigan & Brighton & Hove struggling...

Need to have a good look and see what teams in the league HAVEN'T played EPL;

Bournemouth, Brentford, Huddersfield Town, Milwall, Rotherham United & Brighton & Hove Albion I reckon!

Yep reckon you are right
Of those, Huddersfield has the best record winning the league title 3 times and runners up 3 times. Also 5 FA cup final appearances with 1 win.
Brentford did play top flight football for 4 seasons way back in the 30's as did Brighton in the late 70's, early 80's. They also made 1 cup final appearance losing to Man U 4-0 in a replay after a 3-3 draw. Millwall also famously lost 3-0 to Utd in their only ever FA cup final appearance in 2004 and spent 2 years in the top flight in the late 80's
Bournemouth and Rotherham have never achieved either top flight football or a cup final appearance although Rotherham did make it to the league cup final losing 1-0 to Villa in the 60's.
