Farewell to a great player. Youngest of the 66 world cup winning side.
Apparently he died of a heart attack last night. It was totally unexpected. Listened to his son on the news today, he said he was talking to his dad on the phone about the Man U win and he was fine.

I had the pleasure of seeinig Bally twice on the after dineer circuit. Very funny guy and a great speaker. Sad loss.

As atribute, they are showing, Arsenal v Man U from 1973 on the TV now. United in their Yellow shirts and Blue shorts, Arsenal in their Red Shirts with White sleeves, and White shorts, and not a sponsor in sight

Bob Wilson in goal, Alan Ball, Alan Kennedy, George Graham, and the great Charlie George. For Man U, Willie Morgan, Buchan, Sammy McIlroy and Alex Stepney.

No diving, no players rolling around on the floor in agony, no swarms of players berating the ref and the ref in black (Who's the b4st4rd in the black, ahh remember that chant well).

Arsenal won 3 - 0 by the way.

That'd be the late Ray Kennedy. Alan played for Newcastle at this time before his Liverpool days.

George Graham went from Arsenal to Man Utd in 1972, so are you sure it's 1973?

Me McA, not sure at all. This was according to the tribute prog so I stand to be corrected.
