Thought I would start a new thread for pre season friendly results. I know, like SANFL trials) they don't really mean much but what the hec
First up..........
Wrexham 2 - 3 Liverpool Summer signing Eiffion Williams scores both goals for Wrexham who came back from 3 - 0 down to make the score line look respectable, in front od a crowd of just over 11,000 at the Racecourse ground. Austrian teenager Besian Idrizaj scored an impressive 19 minute hat-trick for Liverpool. Both sides fielded different XI for each half giving games to their youth squads. All 3 Idrizaj goals coming from Jeremaine Pennant crosses.
Stevenage Borough 1 - 3 Tottenham Hotspur£16m summer capture Darren Bent on target as Spurs cruise to easy victory over the Conference outfit. Manager Martin Jol fielded a strong line up and included both Deant and Keane to lead the forward line. Keane scored from the spot on 17 minutes after Bent was fouled by Ronnie Henry (no relation to Thierry). Stevenage pulled level before half time. Spurs pulled ahead 2 mins after the break with Bent racing clear and lobbing the keeper. Youngster, and new signing, Adel Taarabt made it 3 with a weak long range effort.
Other ResultsMerthyr Tydfill 0 - Cardiff 2 Just for you Rooster Marty mate

Won't be able to get all the details for each game but will post up as many as I can

Big 'English/Welsh' derby there between the Bluebirds and Merthyr Tydfill, cheers mate!
I wonder why they play in the English pyramid system, I guess Swansea, Wrexham and Cardiff are too big for Wales but what about MT? Is it due to location? (I hope I am correct in saying that they play in England!)

Think MT play in the Welsh league RM.
By the way Chopra scored both goals in the freindly. Cardiff also played Camarthan Town but lost 1 - 0. Pretty sure this was on the same day and would have been the 2nd string.

Good to see Chopra score a couple of goals, he is the key once again next season.
I just did a bit of googling and MT do play in England, I noticed them when playing Football Manager actually, very strange to see such a small club play in England.

Aplogies for the duff info there RM. Not really followed them. Is strange, as they definitely don't play at league level, and don't recall them at conference level either.

I forgot last nignts
St Patrick's 0 - 1 Tottenham
Bad nes for Spurs as £10m new boy Gareth Bale did not last the distance.in hs 1st outing for his new club since joining from Southampton. The 17 year old left back limped off at Dulin with 9 minutes left. He appeared to have hurt his thigh but it is hopeful his injury is not too serious.
Robbie Keane scored Spurs winner just before the break and boss Martin Jol gave new boys Darren Bent and younes Kaboul starts.

All the talk on the good old spurs forum is about Kaboul. EVERYONE is all over him. Lets hope the weight of expectation isn't too great a burde for the ghetto kid.
I think he's a great talent, but the premiership is as good as it gets, so time will tell. I'm glad he's in a lilllywhites shirt though!
Smithy, On the Liverpool result, you can add Crouch as an acadamy player......OF TOTTENHAM!!!!! I believe we sold him to Crystal Palace for 200k? I'll always remember his hattrick last year against Le-Arse. His 3rd when he flicked back between his legs and just slotted casually on his left was outstanding!

Sorry guys, forgot yesterdays games. Only one score I am sure of....
Accrington Stanley 1 - 1 Burnley The clarets inflicted a humiliating draw in minnow neighbours Accrington at the "Frazer Eagle Stadium

) yesterday. New boys Borat, Blake and Kyraly all started for the clarets, who took control of the game from the off, forcing Accrington to take the lead after 20 minutes. Wholesale changes at half saw the clarets make 9 changes as Accrington battled in vein to get something out of their 1 - 0 lead. Blake returned for his 2nd stint and Burnley took their foot off the gas allowing Stanley to concede one with less than 5 minutes to spare.
Based on this result, Burnley can look forward to premiership football in season 2008.
OthersDagenham & Redbridge 0 - 2 West HamDean Ashton plays his 1st game for the hammers since his injury in training last August
Doncaster 1 -3 Man CityNew boss Eriksson made a winning start (at mighty Doncaster Rovers), as his team came from behind to win 3 - 1. City went behind to a McDaid 16th minute goal before Corradi equalised just after the break. Micah Richards and Emile Mpenza sealed the game for City.
Today....C America 1 - Chelski 2Chelski's US tour got off to a good start with Florent Malouda scoring ina 2- 1 win over Club America. (sounds more like a sandwich than a football team)

I mean soccer team.
Newcastle 1 - 5 Stoke
QPR 1 - 5 Celtic
oh by the way, thats Newcastle -under- Lyme and not Newcastle -upon- Tyne so calm down Dinglinga

Clarets 1 - Boro 1
Good to see your Clarents matching it with the big boys JTC!
Hope you were near a fire extinguisher!!!!
Spurs 2 - Kaiser Chiefs 1
Spurs goals from the regular culprits Keano and Berbatov. Di-mi-tar Berbatov....Di-mi-tar Berbatov!!!!! Can't wait to launch into that one at the Lane in 3 weeks, followed by the standard COYS!!!!
