CLUB WEBSITE DESIGN AND HOSTING

Postby Dissident » Tue Jun 14, 2011 1:05 pm

Website design & hosting for safooty.net members

Every club deserves to have a professional presence in the internet.

  • Does your local club need a website?
  • Does it already have one - but it's old and needs updating?
  • Do you know where your site is hosted? How to get email addresses?
  • Do you know how to update your site?

If you are interested in anything web-related for your club, please let me know. I can step you through the process from start to finish, including assistance after completion.

1. Domain registration (your "name" on the internet)
2. Hosting (where your site physically sits so people can access it)
3. Complete design of your website
4. Email setup (different addresses for different needs)
5. Migration of your existing site
6. Redesign of your existing site
7. Assistance with updating and maintaining.
8. Professional writing services to ensure the copy on your website is professionally written

I am giving any South Australian based club discounts on all of the above.

Feel free to contact me for more information on david@murrin.net

A lot of clubs dont have the finances nor can justify the cost. With Joomla and drupal and other CMS systems available the best bet is to learn those or simple html.
What price range are we looking at diss?

It's easy to underestimate the value of a good club website. We have many people with an interest in the club, our teams, and social events, but who cannot be at the club weekly. Setting their homepage to our club website keeps them abreast of the comings and goings of the club.

It's another avenue to advertise social events, to plug sponsors, show score & best players, sell merchandise, provide contacts etc...

And it'll cost less than what some clubs pay a single player to play for one season.

And it's pretty easy to edit and use, even for a techno-phobe!

@MadMAx

I agree, clubs don't have massive funds to throw around.

I still see value in a good site though - one that can look good, stay current and have a use to the club.

One idea I had was to setup a system which meant a club could just "plug in" a site (sort of like a heavily customised CMS) so that everything was there that they needed. The look would be a generic feel and the colours/logos would change to suit the club.

This keeps the costs down, and gets the club a useful and dynamic online presence.

Hey believe me I know the value of a website. In this day and age any club or business that has no online presence is behind the times and missing out. My clubs website does well www.craigmore.co.cc

Possibly - though hopefully not looking TOO similar.

Domain name lasts for how long you registered it for :)
What's the domain name? PM me if you like.
