Just stumbled across this topic, one of the more enjoyable reads it's fair to say

Swearing's a personal thing, for me I reckon the important component is intent. Ie, you place a bet on a wrong horse and some bloke at the pub laughs and calls you a silly c..., it's all shits and giggles.

I understand many other people don't cope with bad language whatsoever so they avoid the pubs as a rule. The pubs have to make a decision as to which crowd gets their priority to cater for - This site at some stage might have to do the same, I dunno?

Personally I reckon the vast majority of people on this site have been involved in sport so shouldn't be strangers to bad language - And I'd hate to see the site become characterless and sterile like most top flight footy players these days that aren't allowed to add colour onfield anymore.

Understand it's a tough one for admin.

So long as the drunken Friday or Saturday night posting is allowed, I couldn't give a **** what the swear filter does. It's not hard to work out what word is being the asterisks. ****.

I swear like you wouldn't f**kin believe. It is just the way I am. I can string a group of swear words together in a sentence and not one would be out of place. I personally don't mind a bit of swearing I am used to it all the time. But there is certain places I gotta watch my f**kin language so I do.

Just because a word is not in the swear filter, doesn't mean it's ok to use - either.

It's just a "first line of defense" to save checking so many posts.

I'd like filter to eliminate Americanisms like "defense" Diss. ;)

I voted for staying as we are.
I'd rather not see an "anything goes" environment here, but I do swear sometimes myself.

I don't think I've ever used an F or C swear word on this site unless it was in a quote, and I rarely use them in everyday speech.
The F*** word may slip out sometimes when I'm very angry.

"Bitch" - the correct term for a female dog used to be filtered at one time.
