This forum is much more of a family site and has moved on from just being about one subject (footy) and therefore open to a much wider audience, and people interacting with the site in a different way than a club forum which is more like a group of supporters/friends standing around and talking about the footy. With the amount of people accessing this site in their workplaces I think we also need to be careful that they aren't blocked from accessing the site at work.

I know people post in the heat of the moment and a bit hot headed, we've all done it, but in the normal course of events surely you can post in a civilized manner. Go somewhere like the footy and you expect to hear a bit of swearing and carrying on like that. Walking through a shopping centre if you hear someone carrying on in the same manner you'd look at them like they are an inbred moron, the setting/situation determines how you should behave at that point of time.

C__t and f__k should definitely be on the swear filter, as should other versions of those words, and add ons like f'wit and f'er. For some people swearing is nothing to think twice about, for some people swearing is completely cringe worthy. We can't alienate one side of that scale when what we currently have in place is fine as it is. You can type something like "What the **** are the Australian selectors thinking?", it will come out filtered, and everyone still knows what you are saying without it actually needing to be there for all to see. Surely people aren't that much of a Neanderthal that they have to swear just because they can't think of any other word to use.

Always makes me laugh when people bring up kids using this web site. I'm not a parent, but even I'm not deluded enough to think anyone younger than 18 would have the slightest bit of interest in reading safooty.

LOL at Dogwatcher still upset over a bit of language at the footy. Maybe next time, take Ron and Todd to the family friendly area if you are worried about their "freakin ears".

Kids copy what adults do....... Society has dumbed down the standards for adults so its only natural that the children follow.

Hearts on Fire was on here when he was about 14. Only a bunch of whinging **** would give a **** about a swear filter stopping them from being douchebags. How about show your wit and say what you need to say without having to have ths word actually appear.

I bet everyone knows what the blanked words above are...no need to uncensor them to get the effect

Go on Youtube and read the comments on any video. THATS what happens when you give people too much freedom on what they can write on a public forum.

The good comment to idiotic senseless comment ratio is very lopsided toward the latter though. Probably one comment for every million is worth reading

Yeah...the ONE good comment. I can just see how things would go if people were allowed to put swear words on here. People would do it just for the sake of it, instead of sparingly like they do now. Now I think people only put it.in if its necessary.to make the.sentence, or their point.
