Great run by Australia, bowing out to Cuba in the Quarter Finals 4-3.

Edwin Diaz, a reliever for the NY Mets ( just signed a 5 year $102m deal ) has blown a knee out in the celebrations after Puerto Rico’s win over the Dominican Republic. Ouch.

I’m still not sure what the point of this tournament is when the US only play their second or third string lineups. Pretty telling when the stars would rather be at spring training than playing in a World Championship.
Wouldn’t be shocked if Japan wins

Second and Third string, huh? Betts, Trout, Goldschmidt, Arenado, Turner, Wainwright all played. Harper and Kershaw are both recovering from surgery. Judge just signed a 9 year bazillion dollar deal so his name is an obvious exclusion but I reckon you're way off the mark there mate.

Who else didn't play for Team USA?

Can't wait until June, I'll be watching the Yankees host the red sox from behind home plate, slightly down the 1st base line

Did you see the Yankees game yesterday that after a hit it should have been a regulation out , bounced down the mid towards second base but hits the base and deviates enough for two runners to score.

I’ve watched a bit of baseball but hadn’t seen that before.

Sure did. It's good being able to watch all these sports during the day and evening rather than in the middle of the night

It's a fair effort. Particularly in these days where they are so conservative.

Good thing that it was the visiting Yankees who recorded the perfect game. Crowd was 12k.

The Athletics have struggled to register 2k for most weeknight games this season.

And has been spanked the previous couple of games.

Glad we got the win but not sure it's sustainable against decent sides.
