SABL 2011/12

Postby RustyCage » Tue Mar 13, 2012 3:38 pm

Spending 7 years playing junior baseball out at ND I really don't know how thy got up into div 1. They had one or two reasonable years in div 2 but were the whipping boys the rest of the time, seems like not much has changed in div 1 since I left

Yes, they have been easy beats this year. Cant say as much for their Div 7 North team who, as a complete team of Koreans, whip every one else!

Norths actually improved a fair bit this season, agreed they are no good but atleast there has been improvement. I was told they have a structured training session now which has helped them out. Add 2 decent impports and things start to look better for them. Their trouble is recruiting within the state there isnt too many good A graders that would go out there to play.

Who are your tips for this weekends Prelim Finals...

I think Kensi will take care of Glenelg, you wouldnt think the Cards would lose 2 series in a row.

And I am confident Port can get the job done against GGCD...Huge game 1 Sat..

I would think kensi will beat the bays and i am picking port to beat the dodgers. Defence wins finals. and the middle infield of cakebread and sims along with the arms of Fowler, crabb, langman far out number the dodgers.

I thought that last week with Kensington and GG but GG got up. I also think the same unfortunately I think it would be Kensington v Port GF but cant believe the Higgs will get a gig in a Grand Final side that guy is useless...

Go Ports!!

Should be a big GF this week with Kensington v Port, old rivals in the big one.

Port's U16's Premiers, great effort by the boys, my lad winning pitcher, did a great job.

Ridiculous finals series. What a waste of last week. Should have just put Golden Grove and Kensi straight through to semi and given them the bye last week.

By the way I do not support any of the teams who made the finals.

agree with you bloods its basically almost just playing for the home final...

anyway i think it should be an epic Grand Final, tensions flared out at Kensington last year i believe between these too teams which should make it very interesting.

Still can't believe Matthew Higgs is getting a gig!!!

Congratulations Boony for the 16's but I cant see you guys getting over Kenisington in their first ever home Grand Final...

Game 1 Ruzic (ex port) vs Fowler.
Game 2 Talbot vs Crabb
Game 3 if needed Czec import vs langman

going to be a lot closer then people think. You have the kensington team full of players from all SABL clubs eg the higgs former H&G, east torrens, west torrens and former Adeliade giant ball pen catcher, Talbot will win the capps medal ex goodwood player, Ruzic ex south and port, Murphy ex port, HAve some power arms and bat 1 through to 8. Have a few question marks about the fielding. Have been the favourites all year and will go into the weekend $105 favourites.

Port have more of the home Grown feel about them with the likes of Cakebread, Sims, Langman, Grautner. They have good starting pitching and a handy long ball line up, with us import and langman in fine form. Port have come from just sneaking into the playoffs to have a sniff off premiership glory. Give them a $2.60

my pick will be Kensignton to win in 3 games. In a fiery series. will not be suprised to see a few bench clearing moments and few players ejected.

any truth to the rumour Higgs is on he final warning about cleating players????

Not sure The Higgs gets on base enough to cleat players, massive mistake by him to get 2 steps off of first base against Golden Grove 2 weeks ago and was shot down at first by hernandez...

yeah weekly, I think there is 3 different divisions. are you looking for a team to play for? are you located east, west, north, south? Matt Miles runs the winterball league he is the man to speak to if your looking for info or entering a team.

Congratulations to Nick Talbot last night for winning the CAPPS Medal, although i thought the all star team was a bit on the sour side a few positions an absolute joke it was a very well run night.

Team of the Golden Grove year? LOL. Love for Port, with no TOTY reps, to knock Kensington off this weekend. I'll be there Saturday for a look.

Rigged team of the year, the grand final on the weekend was a cracking series to watch. I went out both days and saw some great baseball. I honestly thought after watching on saturday that the Cardinals would finish it up in 2 games, as port just couldnt rally some hits together against big roo. But all credit to Cakehole and his team they came out firing on sunday morning. Congratulations to both teams, it was a great venue to watch a grand final out sitting at centre right for the day you had a good view from all over the ball park. Good to see baseball enthusiast Roger Rasheed out having a look also.
