Wonder what the odds are for the Ducks sneaking into the top 8 in the West. They are 9-1-1 in their last 11 and look like the only team in the bottom 8 who are playing well enough to displace the slumping Wild.Still 10 points adrift but it was about 20 a couple of weeks ago.

Good luck to all our teams who play today.

My mighty Canes have a rest day today in readiness to flog the Bruins in Boston tomorrow. :D

Depends on who is in net if Rask you guys will have a problem. Tim needs to give up the white house stuff. Canes pshhhh Whalers if you ask me not mighty at all still should be in Hartland. But Bettman wanted teams down south.

Dunno why you say that-Whalers won zilch then moved to Raleigh and won the Stanley Cup within 10 years.
North Carolina is also the fastest growing state in the country so we're gonna be around for plenty more seasons.

Yeah the league went through a strange period in the 90's where they relocated teams South. The Whalers, Nordiques, Jets and North Stars all got shafted. The league will justify this by claiming that all 4 were drawing poor crowds and were unsucessful and that out of the 4 new sides only the Coyotes have failed to win the cup

Well they moved from Hartford down to North Carolina. When they were Boston/New England/ Hartford Whalers they won One WHL championships in 1972-73. The NHL clubs screwed the pooch to say with the WHL clubs joining the NHL. I admire the fact the Canes have won a Stanley Cup. I was stirring and I got a bite ;) Bruins should win at the Garden.

Bruins should win easily but the Canes like playing against Boston this season played 3 won 3 so far so I'll be pushing my luck to think we can do it again.

Yes the Whalers and Nordiques probably deserved to go as they were making losses. Felt for the Jets a little but was very upset when the North Stars moved from a traditional hockey area in Minnesota to the desert of Texas. Cant stand any Texan sides so it gave me another side to hate

Funny thing is the Coyotes are broke and have never been successful down there. Bettman Screwed the pooch look at the Thrashers being Sold to Winnipeg to bring back the Jets. What a Joke. Bettman got alot of butthurt on that move. New Jersey is broke and looking for a buyer as well Crowds are well down for the Devils. Quebec is looking to buy a team and so is Seattle.

The Stars have done well in Dallas. Quebec and the Jets moved because the Canadian Dollar was weak and all wages were to be paid in American Dollars. Kinda hurt both clubs. Whalers wanted to stay in Hartford but the Conn. Government would not build a new stadium. Bettman has ruined alot of traditional Hockey area's because of his policies. He followed what he learnt from the NBA and got screwed.

This is their last year unless The city of Glendale come up with another 25 million.

Arizona isnt a traditional hockey area, id like to see Minnesota or even Seattle get a team. Not sure Quebec would work again, only a small population base and 3 other well supported Canadian sides in close proximity.
Was very surprised Atlanta folded as it is the fastest growing city in the US and has a huge area of economic growth. No suprise the Devils are struggling

Definately agree with Seattle, especially as they lost their NBA team but surely not 2 teams in Minnesota.

LOL on the wild. Quebec or Hamilton will be the next place. Quebec will work problem with Quebec is it French Canada. Pretty much the area all speak French not much English so it Could hurt. Seattle would be great but Vancouver might get Butthurt because they are too close to each other. I would love to see both area's get a team.
