With Perth defeatring Sydney (in NSW) in their best of 3 series 2-0, the Perth Heat have now earned the right to host the Grand Final series in Perth in a fortnight.

They will have the week off and sit back to watch Sydney host our Adelaide Bite in the Preliminary Final best of 3 series, starting next Thursday night at Blacktown.

The winner of that series will of course head over to Perth to take on the Heat in the Grand Final Playoff series which is being broadcast on Foxtel.

I was sitting in the front row of the stand behind home plate near the ground announcer and one of the ABL officials said the crowd was just short of 5,000 (but then later the ground announcer said 4,000)

Either way, it was a great atmosphere and amazing to score that winning run so late on the Aces error and then hold them off in their at bat. Adrian Burnside closed really well on the mound.

Did consider for about 30 seconds going with a mate who does the media for the Bite but after asking the wife, I got a swift response - NO, can't afford if we are saving for a house

We will hopefully speak to Bite Manager Tony Harris on the Wednesday morning sports show on 1197am 5RPH from 7am - 8am (Harris to be on about 7.20am - will confirm early in the week)

Absolutely Thiele, in the end the error from the catcher fumbling the ball attempting the out at first base meant we (Adelaide) scored the winning run.

Prior to that, we had so many opportunities with runners in scoring positions but just could not get any 2 our rallies happening and getting bat on ball to bring in runs.

Tom Brices' back up of the past ball at 1st base and throw to home to get the out and prevent Melbourne scoring again was also a highlight.

Now for the Blue Sox in Syndey, let's go Bite, we can beat them !!!!
