The GBC Div 6 took away the bronze medal in the over 45's

The G-Force over 35's, we finished 5th I think, as we won only 3 games albeit, we beat the teams we wanted to (Rams, Adelaide Aces & Eagles). The Saints (Geelong) beat KAOS in the gold medal game in our division.

Haloman,

GBC Div 2 7-0 winners over the Eagles today, Div 3, yesterday we snatched a 6 all draw against the Eagles also, not sure how the 1's went. Who is your season opener against this week.

Our 4's had the water bag trip out to Gawler, who now have a couple of teams in the lower grades.

Good to see the two's in winning form early. The 4's travelled to Gawler??????? Doubt there would have been many waterbags involved in that trip. A few cartons of Pale maybe.
This week's season's opener see's an A grade double header on Friday night with Saints hosting Shields in the Grand Final replay and Coyotes playing Indians in the late game. No tips for you though mate........got no idea who is playing for anyone at this stage.

G-Force will be heading to Port Pirie to defend our title. Hopefully Lower Eyre - Port Lincoln boys will be there to have another crack at us.

From stories i have heard they will be there, Gary Jones is fired up
to go one better this time with players of the calibre Paddsy,Vic,Steve,
BJ throw in a Regan on the mound and the gold should be theirs. A well
noted absentee is Stephen Kerr who i believe has relocated to
Melbourne for employment that may be the downfall to the Lower Eyres
chances.

Shayne Bennett, coached Kensington last year, didn't play, Kensington have a new coach this year and I haven't heard that Bennett is coaching or playing anywhere else.

Dermie, It's a pity Kerrie won't be playing in the Pirie Masters this year. As Haloman would know he'd love to get the chance to throw at his old coach (yours truly). As for Reg's surely he still isn't pitching??

Well that could be true about Kerr'y, you could expect the first one
to play a little chin music after all he has been taught by Mick Regan.
I have heard that Mick has been looking impressive at the early training
sessions this season so he may be in for a big year.

Well.................. What a night! :drinkers: :partyman:
Saints and Shields played out a 4 all draw in what can only be described as an interesting encounter. Saints junped out of the blocks, taking Timmy "Help Me" Pobke to task in the first stanza, helping themselves to 4 run lead with walks and hits leaking from everywhere. (even I managed a safe hit. :? )
Shields managed to claw their way back over the remaining 5 frames to tie the scores in the 6 innings at 4 all. Craig Dorward tried to steal home with 1 out in the final frame and yours truely had the pleasure of tagging him out out home plate to force the draw. Craig will visit the tribunal this week, as a direct result, after abusing the umpire for a bad call. I think it will be an interesting tribunal hearing............and one I can't see bringing him any serious pentalty. ( I hope the tribunal reps don't read this thread. )
Coyotes belted a depleted Indians outfit 19-2 in the late game. Goodluck tomorrow for all you Glenelg lads and hears hopping Jayjake goes three fa! [-o< :supz: :prayer: :goodman:

Haloman,

3's today also an interesting game, as us old fellas tried to hold of a fast finishing bunch of kids from Sturt. Held an 8-2 lead early only to see Saints even up the game at 8-8 with about a half hour to play.

Pulled our fingers out to score another three and shut them out for an 11-8 win.

The Div 3 tigers had 22-0 win over henley & No brains, not sexist but chicks playing div3 (henley) NOT ON.

Dive 4 went down 16-6 to the no brainers. Lucky I'm not on the tribunal, I's throw the book at Dorward.

Cheers
Jayjake

Haloman,

How'd the boys go this week. We had a very enjoyable win over South's 18-5, considering we had a very young 55 year old pitcher on the mound (Chopper Carman).

In some bad news I heard a Sturt Div 5 player, passed away during a game against Goodwood on the weekend. Not good.

Jayjake the saints boys had a very much needed win over indians
on friday night 3 to 2 i think. Tight game most of the night and with
saints having last bat and trailing by 1 shane smith put one in between
centre and right to score a runner then he preceeded to pick up a walk
to home via a couple of passed balls to win the game with only 1 out.
Saints would be happy with that after most of the game it was looking
like another draw for them.

Jayjake not many reports of baseball coming in from your way, whats
been happening with games? I see on the news tonight that SA will have a side in the new national league with Glenelg being the home
base for the side. What is the vibe like around the place about it, any
excitement or are people thinking here we go again Adelaide Giants
revisted???

MT,

Glenelg play South's this Saturday 24th - A Grade @ 4.30pm

As for the new ground at Glenelg North, its only a temporary arrangement until
the Gepps Cross facility gets up and running.
