It baffles me that a non-performance enhancing drug is still being tested for.

It's currently against the rules, so are why are they still using it? Train hard for months then throw it away having a few joints.

at a guess i would say to be a UFC fighter you would have to be a pretty edgy type bloke, probably a way for these blokes to unwind, relax and just chill out.

After an indifferent year I thought the UFC ended 2012 with some good shows in December.

George came across as an idiot in the Smashes Tough Enough, so I didn't mind watching Pearson beat him up. The Aussie TUF winner looks like he could be an exciting addition, his finale match was a good one.

In the USA TUF the final was dead boring, don't see the winner going very far. After 2 poor losses, Matt Mitrione's career is plummeting.

Lauzon vs Miller was a bloodbath and an awesome battle, right up to the end of the 3rd round (it would have been huge if Joe got the submission win). Cain's performance was amazing, non-stop pressure and brutality. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a rubber match.

Next month there's a local MMA show at Thebby Theatre - http://www.mmasouthaustralia.com/

TUF 17 - CHAEL V BONES 8)
Another example of Dana giving the people what they want. It will be very entertaining giving CS that much air time

******* amazeballs. Saved that main card.

Still shattered that JDS lost. Just kept willing him to get the knockout blow with each passing round, but he could barely lift his fists. Hopefully he'll return a better fighter.

2012 - The year of injury ruined cards. Hopefully this year isn't a repeat. Looking forward to Edgar beating Aldo in that superfight, GSP brutalising Diaz (if he bothers to turn up), Rousey armbarring the shit out of Carmouche, and anyone, just anyone, beating Jon Jones.

Agree with the injuries, enough already, fine them if they get hurt and can't compete!

Diaz, what's the bet he no shows again? I've already been reading articles from Dana that he can never get hold of Nick, doesn't answer or return and calls or messages... Hope he makes it in the ring but and I am a fan of the Diaz boys but I don't wanna see Nick as a champion.

The less said about the women's division the better, I hope it's a horrible fight, the crowd turn on them and the UFC abandon the division. But I can't see it happening.

Wut? Why?

A good fight is a good fight, doesn't matter who's fighting. The latest Invicta card had some great fights.

Also, Rousey's armbar on Tate was not only one of the most brutal submissions of the year, but one of the most brutal I've ever seen in an MMA fight. Very entertaining

I agree.

Just watched Strikeforce's final show- it was probably the worst show I have seen from the company.

Loads of UFC shows coming up in the next couple of months, including the new TUF series. Should be good.

I might be in a minority im not really sure but I dont find womens fighting entertaining, add to the fact its another weight class in the UFC, and im just not for it. Will they eventually keep introducing more weight classes for women? If they're treating it seriously then dont they have to?
If it takes off and its entertaining great but at the moment I think of women in the UFC the same as I did when James Toney fought Randy, a gimmick.

And I sit through North games every week, every year.

Nothing wrong with a bit of variety though.

Well the final card of the year was one of the best.
The toughness of Dos Santos and the disciplined game plan of Velasquez were simply outstanding.
Sad to see the end of Strikeforce but agree the final card was one of the worst.
Plenty to look forward to in 2013 - who will be the first to challenge for the HW title, Cormier and Melendez to finally fight in the UFC and likely Jacare and Mousasi, hopefully the return of Barnett, perhaps a Rousey vs Cyborg fight and we will hopefully find out how good Overeem is drug free.
I have no problems with a womens division as long as the fights are entertaining, and prefer this to the smaller weight divisions of 125 and 135.

The last fight of the Prelims is good and the last fight of the main card was ok. The rest was either one-sided or just dull.
