Yep those 'war dances' always add something special to a game. Hope Tonga and Fiji get to perform theirs too :D

21 minutes

SA 9
Samoa 7

No surprise at SA getting out the handbags when the Samoans get the better of them [-X

Go Samoa :D

I guess a win is a win but it was a shocking performance...they would have struggled to catch a cold let alone the ball...seen better skills from school teams  Need a big improvement to get out of the pool of death.

Once again the score doesn't do justice to a fantastic effort by a debutant side who scared the bejeezus out of Argentina in the first half

More overnight results;

Italy 24 def Romania 18
Fiji 35 def Japan 31

Every team has now played at least one game. Pools are starting to take shape.
POOL A
South Africa, England & Tonga are separated by points difference with one win a piece
POOL B
Australia, Wales & Fiji as above
POOL C
New Zealand & Scotland in the box seat here.
POOL D
Argentina on top with 2 wins, followed by Ireland. This is the "Group of death" and will probably be decided by the Argentina/Ireland & Ireland/France games....

The end of the Fiji v Japan game is worth watching if you can. Japan managed to keep the ball in play for more than 5 minutes after full time...nail biting stuff :D

There will be some very very sore bodies in both the Italian and Romanian camps today...wasn't perfect ...heaps of errors by both sides but a real hard fought game...joy to watch :D

Don't remind me about the Pool D fixtures...I'm already getting ready to watch from behind the sofa...I admit it...I'm afraid, very afraid [-o< 8-[

Re: World Cup Rugby 2007

Having watched every single match of this Game They Play in Heaven World Cup 2007 so far due to the delights of having Foxtel and a VCR, I have come up with the following observations:

1. The "minnows" are now scoring tries. As in not one but more. There is not the occasional penalty anymore, but tries. I predict that by RWC 2011 in the Shaky Isles, they will be converting them more than the 40-50% they're doing now.

2. The draw once again appears to be flawed and in favour of the rugby super powers when it comes to the first two weeks of pool matches.

3. The Japanese are clearly the most courageous team so far this Cup.

4. England played a player who was instrumental in their last world cup, who has been retired over a year and went to the Bin in their first game. Although they have dropped Delaglio for this week, England are gone.

5. The French, Scottish and Welsh need to be very wary of the lower ranked teams in their pools.

6. The French have done up their grounds beautifully with every stadium and pitch looking in peak condition, congratulations to them (observation courtesy of Mr MK).

7. Stadiums are packed out showing how much the RWC has grown and how big it's becoming for the most wonderful game ever to be played with a ball.

8. My boys did the right thing, reputation, sanity and breathing intact going into the second game.

8. Mr MK and myself are in rugby heaven and we thank Robran that we have Foxtel.

Next big one - Poms V RSA Saturday morning. 5am.
