A NEW Zealand TV presenter is in hot water after a clip resurfaced of him mocking the name of an Indian Commonwealth Games official - Sheila Dikshit.
Despite being told her name is pronounced "Dixit," TVNZ presenter Paul Henry called the Dehli chief minister "Dick-sh*t" and said that her name was "so appropriate" because she is Indian

Agreed, bit of facebook stalking is in order there!

As for the athletes waving to the judges, anyone see Trickett's article on it? She called the athletes Un-Australian, which to me is a joke.

Going to the media to bag on your countrymen is unaustralian. Australians are stereotyped as larrikins and criminals giving an authority figure the finger seems pretty much in place to me.

A great article on why the Indian population is indifferent to the Commonwealth Games

Unless you've mistaken the name... Bird is second from the right, and that looks criminal.

Eamon Sullivan chokes at an international meet again - only getting bronze in the 100m freestyle final.

I believe both St Kilda and Glenelg Football Clubs are considering a 'choking partners' sponsorship

Brucetiki, you seem to be following the Games rather closely.

In your opinion, do you think they should have been held at all?

(With respect to all the negative press, and issues they've encountered.)

IMO, Delhi should have been stripped of the games. It was clear about 12 months out they were never going to be ready, and the threats of terrorism was always going to scare the tourists off. As an example - the athletics track wasn't completed until day 3 of the games in Delhi, Melbourne's was ready for several months, and was even able to be hidden for a test match, and I'm sure Manchester and KL were ready months in advance prior to 2002 and 1998.

The big winner out of the debacle is Glasgow (host of the 2014 games) - they don't have a big act to follow, and can plan their games knowing they're guaranteed to be an improvement on Delhi.

Well I got what I expected out of them. They should have been Given to Canada. This is a big slap in the face of any developing nation wanting to host these games in the future.

Comedy of errors in the mens 50m freestyle

Australian Ashley Callus has been disqualified in the first semi for breaking - to his credit he took it very well. However, he would be in a very strong position to lodge a protest after TWO swimmers false started in the second semi and were not disqualified. One of the false starters (South Africa's Roland Schoeman) has qaulified 4th for the final but either he should be disqualified of Callus reinstated. IMO Schoeman should be disqualied as it was a clear break.
