The NFL are seriously investigating increasing the playoff spots to 14 or 16.
The Comissioner has stated he would like it in by next season but its more than likely it wont be introduced until 2014.
Obviously they are trying to cash in on the extra games but the downside is that if this system was in this year we could see sides with a 6-10 record make playoffs
