Has anyone ever been to the Adelaide Roller Derby? It seems to draw quite a few spectators and I've seen the odd media piece about it. Would be interested in any tales that there may be to be told ;)

one of the girls is the daughter of one of the media characters from the world of thoroughbred horse racing & she goes under the name 'violent krumble'......have been meaning to go but haven't made it yet
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

A chick at work is involves in it and she's damn hot, Id pay money to go see her in tight shorts alone!

My brother went to an event in Canberra recently, apparently its the hottest ticket in town and sells out within minutes :shock:

I think so - it featured on the last series Airways I think (one of the Sydney sides flew Tiger)
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

For snyone that might be interested there's a show on this Wednesday at 10pm on ABC 2 about this phenomenon called Roller Derby Dolls.

I have been to a couple of bouts and it is a hoot!

The girls really ham it up whilst trying hard to win - and the crowd, referees and announcers add to the spectacle.

And you can drink beer whilst you watch!

Sorry for the late notice was watching weekend sunrise and had a some of the local rollerderby girls there was a roller derby match on in adelaide last night at the showground

LOL - friends of mine had their wedding photos taken there. I don't think the "Roller Coaster" was working at the time though.

I turned over to watch it (I think I've seen it before though) and missed it but did manage to watch the show after about the big Serbian dude who wanted to run a marathon.

Kind of funny.

Went today to see match live,had a sensational time.Atmosphere is great and just a good laugh,my friends and i are going sept.26th where there is a double header just remember to get there early and bring your own chair.Also had a band and american bloke that host the event is either Colonel Tom Parker or Colonel Sanders.Sensational raffle prize winner gets to arm wrestle any skater they choose at end of day with money donated to cancer research.
