sporting achievements of our pollies - state or federal

Postby Sky Pilot » Mon Feb 14, 2011 1:44 pm

It might be interesting to examine the sporting prowess of our pollies past and present. I know there have been many over the years who have represented our country in sport and then gone on to politics. I will start with Davis Cup tennis player John Alexander who now occupies the federal seat of Bennelong for the Liberal Party. Previous occupants of that seat were of course noted ABC journalist Christine McKew for the Labor Party and John Howard for the Liberal Party - neither of whom played any sport of note though both would win a gold medal for filibustering if it were a sport!

Personally, I don't think there's intelligent life on other planets. Why should other planets be any different from this one?
