NFL Super Bowl

Postby HH3 » Thu Feb 02, 2012 1:46 pm

Got the day off Monday to watch the Super Bowl live. Obviously the Texans are my team, but really like how Eli Manning goes about things, so going for the Giants this time around.

Im thinking about putting a bet on, but have never done it before.

If I put $10 on NY winning by 1-6 @ $4.50 ,$10 on NY winning by 7-12 @ $7.50 and $10 on NY winning by 13-18 @ 12.25 and they won by 18 or less, id definately get my money back, with a little extra depending how much they won by right?

Same here HH a Texans fan myself-have a mate in Houston who converted me.
Next season hopefully injury free and can push on a bit further.

Going for the Giants personally but I think it might be revenge time for the Pats.

Haha HH. You dot get all your bets if that's the case only the one with the correct margin of the win. My advice would be to have a back up in NE.

Does anyone know why the pro bowl was before the super bowl? That's not normal is it?

It changed in 2010 when it moved to Miami, the previous 30 years in Hawaii were it was held the week after.
Even thought they moved it back to Hawaii they kept the new adopted date (and new rule of not being able to pick players from the Super bowl teams)

Yeah but even if i won the 1-6 margin, Id get at least $30 back wouldnt I? So unless they lose, or win by more than 18, Id get my $30 back, and then some...

i dont think he is saying he will win all his bets, he is saying he will make a profit as long as one comes in, but like i said instead of having 3 diff bets just plonk it all on them for the win, then u can just hope they flog them

Yeah this is the first ever time Ive got to watch it live. Have a fair bit of annual leave saved up, and the boss has been nagging me to take it since October. So I can pretty much just say "yeah, not coming in next Monday", for example, and its a done deal ;)

And I was gonna bet like that because if I put it all on just a win, wouldnt I only get like $60...but if the higher margin came in, wouldnt I get a shitload more? Ive never bet on anything besides Melbourne Cup, so pretty useless
