If you still think Armstrong is innocent you must be the biggest sucker going around. I thought it was only foolish Americans who think no American can do anything wrong who still believed him. Some of these cyclists weren't caught and turned themselves in to give evidence against him. If there was simply testimony from convicted cheats who then tuned (like Landis and Hamilton) then Armstrong would have an easy job beating this. In fact, the UCI wouldn't have accepted the findings to be compelling enough to strip him of his accomplishments, which is why they demanded the release of the findings.

I was like everyone else, hoping he was clean and just a better athlete. Unfortunately I was wrong, but at least I can own up to it instead of sticking my head in the sand and living in denial.

Why I don't necessarily believe he never took drugs, I do believe that one is innocent until proven guilty.

He has never been caught and everything that has gone on over the last couple of weeks is based on heresay and circumstancial evidence. Ie; he said/she said.

Given that, it has become apparent that part of Armstrong charities was funding the UCI - did they know all along and swept it under the carpet because of his contributions? and now they've stopped they've blown him out of the water with 1000 pages of heresay?

They are just as guilty if that's the case.

I guess you don't know what hearsay is then. The case has been proven and I don't imagine given the information the USADA used that the UCI could have known. Most of this information was not available until the last couple of years. Newer blood testing, information from riders who were not previously willing to testify etc. It also makes no sense for the UCI to decide donating to Livestrong would cause it issues if he subsequently got caught cheating. Regardless of his Cycling career, his cancer foundation is still a good cause.

Usually people have no problem with medical evidence and eyewitness accounts from people accepting penalties who otherwise would have evaded detection. These weren't blokes caught with blood on their hands, they were underlings who turned themselves in to see the head honcho get justice.

AUSTRALIAN racing faces a drug-cheating scandal to rival the Lance Armstrong revelations that have rocked world cycling.

Several of the nation's top stables are using the same illicit performance-boosting drug that has riddled bike racing since the 1990s, according to angry trainers and veterinarians.

Some of the biggest names in racing have told the Herald Sun sophisticated drug cheating has become rife among well-known stables.

Respected trainers and veterinarians have confirmed the allegations are valid, citing several examples in both horse racing codes over many years.

They believe the practice of "milk-shaking" with sodium bicarbonate is being combined with use of undetectable variants of the notorious oxygen-boosting hormone used by Armstrong and dozens of other cyclists since the 1990s.
