Looks like Folau will sign at Paramatta for next season. You'll get your wish Jim.

The Eels need all the help they can get after finishing bottom in 2012.

I stand and applaud you. =D>

Well Done Israel Folau.

You had no choice but to try, with the money that was offered.

Goodluck with your future, what ever you decide to do. =D>

Would any AFL Star have been any good at Rugby?

I think not.

When you have the money and trying 2 break into a new market, i think AFL tried the right option. It failed with Israel but got some publicity. Just think Tassie is an obvious choice(nothing new i know) but with Roos and Hawks selling their brand there, could they be offered $$$ deal 2 move? 18 teams now, Not many game times left.

If the AFL experiment was to turn a Rugby player into an AFL star, it failed- Folau was not worth a Rookie's wage.
However, the interest generated on the back of Folau turning to AFL probably can't be measured in dollar terms, as we probably won't know how many people spent money on or in the game, who wouldn't have otherwise.
Post-Folau, it was a low risk gamble, with everything but Folau not playing a game being a winner.

It's not even the money generated through memberships, it's the massive media attention and publicity the AFL received across the nation - suddenly AFL is the main topic of conversation on sports reports in rugby league heartland.

Izzy was destined to fail, he is a league winger where as Hunt was more of a ball playing back and far more versatile. Hunt's skill set far exceeds Izzys - all izzy had really was size and strength.
