ABL 2012/2013

Postby Booney » Fri Nov 02, 2012 1:18 pm

Bite start the season with a 9-3 loss to reigning premier Perth Heat, who will once again be the team to beat.

Bite look to have strengthened the roster on the mound especially and will need the hitting side of things to be solid all season to push for finals.

Can't believe the odds they keep putting up for the Heat... Nothing under $1.66 all three games despite destroying the Bite in all 3....

Anyone head down to these?

I think it's a great concept, and hopefully it raises the profile of the game in Australia.

I went out there tonight. Perfect night, good crowd and an excellent win (ahem) after leading 7-0 we literally held on by the skin of our teeth to win 7-6 with a runner on third.

That's the first game I've been able to get out and see but it wont be the last. Only thing - Bite - get some merchandised stubbie holders, my beer was getting warm!

well the bite are done for another year. Maybe its time for a fresh start on the coaching. A new vision. Harris has done a good job, but maybe a fresh view on the game could benifit our side. Make some of the local talent keen to at least try out

Season not over yet a tie breaker situation is looming. Need to win the series 4-0 and hope results between Brisbane and Perth go bite way.

Problem in SA the quality of baseball is thin hence the sos call to Brice. And Brice is making another performance this week. ABL can have 8-9 imports on a 25 man roster and the rest are locals. Coaching staff had a change in the off season so basically Harris has the job as long as he wants it. Local talent is scouted though out the season with most being asked out to preseason training. This year apparently the coaching staff went with youth.

Good luck to Gary Owens who seems set to make hit debut for the Bite. The Port import has been very impressive this year and is great to have around the club.

Hope he goes well. Agree schimma?

Two good series over the first weekend of finals.

GG and Goodwood going to 3 with extra innings.

Woodville and Torrens the same.

Kensington and Port not as interesting.
