Very disappointed, had our chances in game 5 and should have been closing it out on home ice.

I guess Washington were due.

Caps rally from 3-2 down in the series to claim the last two games of the series and make it through to the Stanley Cup Final. Holtby with back to back shut outs and the Great 8 really stepped up to the plate.
Las Vegas will be their opponents after winning the Western Conference in their first season

Well done to the Last Vegas Golden Knights. Not a bad effort by a relatively new franchise.

We have a guy from Canada here in the office on exchange at the moment, we've been discussing the concessions they were given when entering the competition. The other teams had a chance to "lock away" 12 players that the Knights couldn't touch, everyone else was fair game for them to take, contracted or not.

Prior to them coming in their GM made "deals" with other franchises to not "lock away" players they wanted in exchange for draft deals. It wasn't viewed favorably and the latest team to join, Seattle Kraken, weren't as lucky with the "deals".

We literally have just been talking about it, I'll read up some tonight.

Pretty much the case. I’m a hardcore NHL fan and follow it very closely and yes the concessions were ridiculous and Vegas actually made the Cup Final in their first year of existence (against my mob) and there was plenty of talk about it at the time. The League dialled back the concessions for Seattle but they stil made playoffs in their first season and many fans are annoyed at the leg ups these expansions sides get

Good info guys. My knowledge of the Golden Knights stems solely from one episode of Pawn Star when Rick, Chum and Big Hoss had a visit from one of the players!
Always wanted to get into Ice Hockey but I think always having a relatively small TV up to the age of about 25 meant I could never see the puck which limited my interest.

Was a disgrace that they got him TBH, any other team would have suffered draft sanctions
