Gold Coast motor racing driver and team owner Paul Morris has expanded his V8 Supercar operations by purchasing a Level 1 franchise. The 37-year-old confirmed today his team would campaign two Paul Morris Motorsports-built VZ Holden Commodores in the 2006 V8 Supercar Championship – one for himself sponsored by Sirromet Wines, and the other shared at alternate rounds by emerging talents Alan Gurr and Fabian Coulthard.

Craig Lowndes has smashed the Triple Eight ride/road car (mock V8 Supercar) at QR with a passenger on board. Everyone is fine although the car is a wrecked.

V8 Supercar team owner Larry Perkins has announced he had reached agreement with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey as the naming rights sponsor of his V8 Holden team for 2006.
To be known as Jack Daniel’s Racing, the three year deal between the sixtime Bathurst 1000 winner and the world’s number oneselling whiskey is the first major sponsorship of its kind in V8 Supercar racing.

The person in the car with Lowndes will remember that for the rest of their lives! I remember being at the Adelaide 500 a few years back and I think it was Wayne Park in a Porsche was giving a passanger a few laps when he spun coming out of the final hairpin and put it into the pit wall.
