I’m with Telstra and despite being a regular to Bali and other overseas destinations I’ve never purchased a SIM card. Telstra do some pretty good data packages and between that and the free Wi-fi available we always get by

April to late September/early October is the best time to visit Bali.
January/February can be quite wet as it’s the rain season but temperatures will be around 28 degrees and I’ve been there several times in February and the rain has been hit or miss.
