Cheap things to do around Victor, Middleton, Goolwa...

Postby HH3 » Mon Sep 06, 2010 10:42 pm

Me and the girlfriend are heading down to Victor this weekend and want some nice, cheap things to do.

So far we have the Granite Island Penguin Tour, some art gallerys and whale centre and stuff planned.

What else is there to do down there? Cheaply...

Thanks Fisho.

I took your advice and we went to Urimbirra. Thats an awesome place. The lady in the gift shops a bit rude, but we loved it there. We ended up just chillin with the kangaroos on the grass for half the day. Got to touch koalas as well. There was a kangaroo with a joey in her pouch as well...

it was all cool until we watched te croc feeding and my girlfriend had to leave because of the way the handler was just tossing around the dead baby chicks made her sad. Then on the way out we saw a kangaroo threesome...looked pretty rough on the female, but who am i to judge..haha

thanks again :D

You could get a laugh out of the prices being asked for property there.
One agent was recently offering a Unit on the Esplanade at Goolwa for about twice what something similar in Malibu is.
[That's after adjusting for the exchange rate.]

I lived in Victor until I was 12, and half of this stuff I did not know existed!

Glad you had a good time! :) That's just wrong about the dead baby chicks though - I wouldn't like that either and I imagine it'd freak a lot of kids out! Maybe they should put them through one of those mincemeat things first so you can't tell what sort of animal it is.

Absolutely! It's the same thing with frogs' legs. I tried them once and I quite liked the taste. The problem was, they looked exactly like frogs' legs, like the chef had gone out to the pond and just yanked the back legs off this frog in mid-leap. If they'd de-jointed them beforehand, they would have looked more like chicken nuggets and thus would have bothered me much less. ;)
