Well its bloody warm in the KL airport, not long now till I hit Phuket.
Funniest thing on the trip so far was sitting next to a one legged chinese guy and sending his fake leg flying when I tripped over it after a few too many free Heinekens and Carlsburgs.

Just did a few weeks in Thailand a month or so ago, went to Bangkok, Pattaya, Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and Phuket (Patong)
I'd have to say Koh Samui was probably my favourite of the lot, had a fantastic day tour up the mountain there.
Bangkok was an experience, but now that I've been I don't think I'd overly go out of my way to go again. Koh Tao was nice and relaxing but not a whole lot there to do.
Pattaya is something else, very seedy but that's probably the appeal for a lot of people that go there.
Went to a full moon party in Koh Phangan, good night for something different but I'd have to say overall it was perhaps a bit overrated.
Did a day tour in Phuket which was brilliant, only £50 and it included white water rafting, an elephant ride, a visit to a Buddhist cave with hundreds of monkeys roaming about, and a baby elephant show, well worth the cost. http://www.isango.com/thailand-tours/ph ... uket_18099

God, it was cryptic as I had to re-read it myself a few dozen times to work out what I meant, thought it might have been a weird spell check thing.
Rocky IV was the Rocky movie when he fought Drago the Russian. Hence Phuket IV.
Must have been pissed when I came up with that gem of humour.

Love Bangkok.

Open air eating near Lumphini Park brilliant.
Khao San Rd & Llang Boat rides in Bangkok fantastic.
Floating Markets a rip off, but ya gotta do it once. Tiger Temple if you must
Pick a dodgy ferry and go up the river as far as you can. Just get off anywhere for a bit of an adventure, just never know what you will get!
Chattachuk markets.
Head back to Siam Paragon region when you need to re-Westernise yourself.

Patong - you only do it once.
Hit a cruise to Phi Phi. Stay a night or 3 and hire yourself a boat.
Be prepared to whinge how expensive food is upon your return from Thailand

Anyone been to Pattaya, mates are going there in May so reluctantly I'm going there to have some more fun with them.
I'm going to go to Phuket for first 5 days to catch up with friends first before flying up to Bangkok to get a week in at Pattaya with my mates.
They reckon a boat cruise or two is a must, anyone else been there and have any recommendations?
