This. You will be shattered to leave.

But if you can't change your itinerary, I'd get to Top of the Rock, walk the Brooklyn Bridge, try to catch a game (basketball or hockey) at MSG, Times Square for a bit, the 9/11 Memorial (which you'll have to pre-book), take in a Broadway show, get to Katz's Deli and smash a pastrami on rye.

This one depends on how long you want to stand in line, we ended up doing the one in the middle of the Xmas markets in Bryant Park with a bit less of a line and still really enjoyed it.

Not sure how much of a foodie you are, but we took a 3-4 hour walking tour with http://foodonfoottours.com, the guy was a really passionate New Yorker and took us to some really small, authentic places we probably would've walked past otherwise. In three hours on the west side we did Pizza, Mexican, Portuguese, a Greek bakery and a burger joint. Well worth the money. At the end of the tour he gave us a list of some of his favourite eats across NY, we took up 4 of them across the eight days we had left and they were all amazing as well.

Set aside one day to look through Macys! 8 floor department building. I was in NY at the end of November last year and found all there summer attires reduced by ridiculous amounts due to them going into winter. You'll find so many good bargins in there
