Surprise for family in Melbourne

Postby whufc » Tue Jan 23, 2018 2:31 pm

Surprising the kids with a trip to Melbourne with them and the partner in Feb.

Going to do the obvious, Zoo, Aquarium, Lunar Park but want just one more option that I can do which will surprise all of them.

The kids are 9 & 6 and the misses is pregnant.

What to do in Melbourne (nearly all my Melbourne trips have been lads trip with nothing but beers, boobs and footy/cricket on the agenda)

I took the wife and kids there 2 months ago and did that.
The missus spent more shopping than me drinking though buts it’s a win/win and kids loved it.

Thanks for this thread, Whuffer. We're surprising the kids with a trip to Melbourne for the footy in July, so I'll be keeping an eye on this for tips.

There are a few Water Theme parks about if its warm. One on the road down to Geelong, another in the outer North East at Whittlesea. Never been to either, driven past the one on the way to the Sleepy Hollow. Worth a thought.

I went to the whittlesea one in October with the kids.
Plenty there for everyone.

They had nearly finished some new tube and speed water slides as well which looked good.

Definitely recommend it.
It was about an hours drive North from the city.

The Legoland discovery centre at Chadstone was a winner with our kids:

https://melbourne.legolanddiscoverycentre.com.au/

There is a deal where you can get entry to there and the Aquarium on the website which can save you some $$$

I'll have to pop over to Melbourne later in the year to see some old friends as I haven't been back since I returned to Adelaide in January 2009.

We are just back from a week in Brisbane including 2 days up at Broadbeach staying with friends in their 19th floor penthouse right on the beach front - I wish I'd inherited one of those.
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!
