That hasn't been mandated yet, but they said they'll cancel if it comes in .. I told him (without being an expert) same thing, I'd be surprised if that didn't become a condition for boarding.

Cruise companies are asking for ridiculous deposits with payment in full months and months before sail, with no refunds, only credits and no travel insurance company will touch anything even remotely related to COVID

but go your hardest if you want to just give away your hard earned to an almost broke cruise company ;)

Some have and the others will follow suit.

Yeah those fully refundable $1 deposits are ridiculous!

PS Cruise companies have been the only travel industry where I've found it quick and easy to get a refund. Airline companies or travel agents on the other hand....

Hmm, Thats a decent heads up, thanks Mambo. Deposit for this one only works out to $175, but Im pretty sure they want the balance like 6 months in advance. Refund would be provided by Princess (cruise line, not Meaghan) IF they cancelled the cruise in the event of an outbreak.

Given they're currently going down like the Titanic financially you'd think they'd need some fair coin in advance to get things moving before they even untied the dock lines.

Just make sure that you can actually get a refund and not just a credit

Yep can get either. Don’t need to pay balance until start of August (for Oct 25 trip) so reckon I’ll book it and if I lose the deposit then so be it.

Anyone flown Jetstar recently? Feels like forever since I flew last. Assuming mandatory masks on board etc.

We have a trip to Brissy booked for late April, car hire and accommodation all booked with no money down and free cancellation.

Whilst doubtful it would go ahead when the flights were booked late last year, it now looks promising fingers crossed

LOL. Nice to hear things haven't changed.

Certainly not first choice but for a family trip the kids can put up with it :)

Flew with them last August to Cairns and back.

No problem. You get nothing for nothing so a few podcasts or reading material and a drink or a lollie and Bobs your Aunty.

Worst cancellation rate and delays by a mile. Their cancellations are often deliberate too

Mrs Jimmy once told me she'd divorce me if I ever booked her on Jetstar again (At least I know my options)

We are going to Hobart tonight and Jetstar are the only direct flight. Needless to say we chose going via Melbourne with Virgin (helps that we get free upgrades) :)

We flew to Bali with Pornstar a couple of years ago
We went Business Class so I wasn't too fussed
Mrs Jimmy's seat wouldn't recline / my TV didn't work

We were in 2A & 2B.
They came around to get dinner orders.
My selection wasn't available even though we were the 3rd & 4th people they asked.
Apparently those meals weren't loaded. The alternative was fish which I wouldn't eat. I told him to keep bringing the alcohol or else.

It's difficult not to give the flight attendant a serve at the time but I certainly let loose in an e-mail when we got back
"Thank you for the feedback" blah blah blah about always improving. (ie) eff off - we know we're $hite but who cares

Today we used Jetstar Bali vouchers to book a trip to Tassie in late July/early August, off to see the Roos/Geelong in Hobart :( and then head up the east coast and end up at Barnbougle for a hit of golf (something I promised myself for my 50th).

Going to be freezing but can't wait to get back to Tassie.
