If you are considering adding a turbo to a vehicle not built for it there are potential hazards to do with transmission components that can't take the extra load.
The same applies to increasing the turbo boost over specification in a turbo vehicle.
I had to check my S2 was one of the models with "overboost capacity" in the gear box before tweaking it.
Some others of that make without this, given the treatment, have blown up the bottom gear cogs in record time.
[The stronger gear box was only in the later vehicles of this series.]

If you want a turbo buy a car with one factory fitted ... if you want a huge headache, a big hole in your pocket and more than an even chance of breaking your car, by all means add one on.

What he said.

Just makes for a magnificent drive. It's got raw power, but also has fantastic handling and comfort. I love mine to death and would have to go broke before I'd sell it. Here's my baby:

I admit I haven't driven a Ford since the one I hired from Hertz in 1998, but based on that and earlier models I had driven I wouldn't expect the terms "Ford" and "fantastic handling" to appear on the same page... ;)
Perhaps they have improved - things change - I remember HK Holdens were OK but HQs were shocking.

I have a '08 FG XR6 Psyber and can confirm that handling and ride have improved. I do still find with the traction control off that the back end comes a little "loose" in the right conditions though... 8)

I never liked the Falcon prior to the release of the BA.

Currently driving a BF XR6 and can't fault it, yet IMO the FG is a better car again.
Hopefully get to drive a 2011 plate Demo, once we get them in stock :D

Have been searching myself on the net, but keep getting a thousand different prices from everywhere.
