Posted: Mon Aug 22, 2011 2:45 pmthink you got ripped off mate. my local recycling depot took an old car battery, and paid me! i reckon it was more than $4 too, although they weighed it first, and it was a big battery, so i think it goes on the weight of the unit.

But they take the battery as the delivery fee if they bring the new battery to you.
I took the second option for convenience at the time as the money involved is trivial.

Posted: Fri Sep 02, 2011 6:16 pmA really good trick is to carefully empty out the acid from the battery and bung it it in a glass jar. Then if you dip your (chrome) shower head into it for a few seconds then flush it in clean water it comes up a treat - like brand new.
