Is the season over already?

Mercedes half a second faster than Alonso in the first angry laps this year.

I think the field will definitely come back as the season progresses and teams get used to the completely different beast under the drivers arses.

In 98 the McLarens lapped everyone up until 6th, but after a few races the Ferrari had caught up. In 2009 the Brawns dominated early and it was only the fact it was just one of their drivers getting the wins that gave them the championship as the car was a dog in the second half of the season.

Exactly. By the time the other teams catch up, it will be all over. Remember, Mercedes may improve also.

Great chance now if wet, although I think the Red Bull might still be a piece of junk in the dry.

Koybiashi. What a douche. Can't say I'm disappointed with vettel and Hamilton gone. Good to see Riccardo taking off where Webber left with the starts.

Disappointed Bottas had that contact with the wall, he was quick! Williams definitely deserved better than what they got today.

seems like all teams were struggling with the lesser downforce, a lot of drivers 4 wheel drifted into that wall, bothas was just the unluckiest

vettel tagged the wall a couple of times in quali and practice but only just, so it didnt do much, hamilton locked it up trying to avoid it a couple of times.

Ricciardo disqualified

http://www.news.com.au/national/ricciardo-disqualified-after-rosberg-beats-him-into-finish-at-australian-grand-prix/story-e6frfkp9-1226856246906?from=public_rss

MERCEDES driver Nico Rosberg of Germany won the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne tonight but, in a sensational sequel, Australia’s runner-up Daniel Ricciardo was disqualified over an alleged breach of a fuel-consumption limit.
Ricciardo had finished second in his debut for the Red Bull team, which immediately announced an appeal against his disqualification.
But it emerged tonight Ricciardo had been investigated by F1 stewards for a potential breach of the fuel-flow-limit rules during the race, and then disqualified by the FIA motorsport governing body, losing his second place.
FIA technical deldegate Jo Bauer had reported his concerns that Ricciardo’s car “exceeded consistently the maximum allowed fuel flow of 100kg/h”.
