Interesting to see what sort of events they can attract. I believe on paper it's Moto GP rated which is the 2nd best rating you can get and host anything but Formula 1.

Correct, all but F1 can race there. Moto GP and Indi Car capable.

I'd also expect the likes of the Monster Jam, Moto X, X Games type events to be held there.

Yes, it will be, but I question how long the government will persist supporting 2 Supercar events.

I'm very interested to see how this venture pans out. There will be significant emphasis on profit in the operation of this, which I will be interested to see if this ends up pricing most club categories out of competing there. Just a gut feel it could just become a playground for the rich. I guess a lot will also come down to how much Peregrine use there significant influence within the government for funding. I mean it certainly worked for all the rezoning that occurred for the other infrastructure they are building around the facility.

Looks as though next year will be the last time the event is called the "Clipsal 500" with the Peregrine Corporation in negotiations to have naming rights for the event.

Likely to be the "On the Run 500" this is the first real sign of the Shahin family getting their hands on the V8 Supercar events held in SA. I wonder if they'll be happy with running two events, or will the street circuit event be moved to Tailem Bend?

I think it'll start at two events.
You'll find that they won't be running any events. The second event they are trying to negotiate with the local government that the government will be given the responsibility of running the event, taking care of ticketing & taking the burden of any potential loss, with the Peregrine Corp/Tailem Bend Motorsport Park only providing venue hire.

Gonna be interesting to see what happens.

I wouldn’t describe motor racing in Australia as a growth industry.

The Parklands set will put extreme pressure on the State Government/City Council to move the March event out there too...

Won't happen. The 500 is a major SA government backed event, The Bend will be Peregrine cash spinner only.

I think we can have both events packed out. We're a Motorsport state.

The Bend is not accredited for F1. But is for everything else including 2 Wheels.

What is involved with certification?

Surely if you can certify city streets you can certify most places if you want?

Yeah to get to Grade 1 which is required for F1 it's just a stack of paperwork and several circuit checks including simulation. It can be done and many tracks worldwide are Grade 1 compliant that don't hold F1 events.
The F1's aren't moving from Melbourne in the near future in any case
