Put on a kilo. Did nothing but sat home in front of the tv over holidays. So glad to be back at work

125.2 Up slightly again, not sure why as I worked pretty hard this month. Hopefully a better result coming this month. 3 months with an increase in each isn't good for motivation or enthusiasm. All I can see at the moment is the struggle to regain lost territory.

Diet. Exercise. And Discipline.

D. E. A. D.

Unfortunate acronym but that's pretty much it!

Another factor is that I really wanted to lose the weight.

As such, have stuck to my guns and ignored temptation, which wasn't that tempting anyway.

Here's what's been working for me...

Diet
- Wasn't too bad but I completely cut out ALL junk food.
- Over-eating was my biggest vice.
- Cut portion sizes.
- Off the grog. Not just for weight loss. Basically sick of alcohol.
- Less dairy. More fruit and veg.

Upshot of all this is that I've discovered I really like vegies!

Exercise
- Took a few eeks to work out what I enjoy. Always hated running on flat surfaces.
- Walk home from work every day. Takes 80 minutes.
- Hill runs. Twice a week. Hour workout at local park. Attack hills of various sizes. Build to a monster.
- Stairwell runs. Every day at work. Run 40 floors four days a week. 110 floors on Saturday.
- Steps. Flat-chat for a minute, rest for 30 seconds x 5. When I first started I struggled to do 40 a minute. Now up to 70+.
- Half-hour ab workout before bed.

Then just little things like walking up stairs instead of taking the lift...

Terrific effort and result, well done. Sounds an extremely arduous workout regime, You must have had a good fitness base to begin with. Once you reach your goal you should be able to lighten off a bit. Make sure you do because at the current rate you will have disappeared completely before next Xmas ;)
