chewing gum is good but usually when you stop you get hungry again. If your diet is 100% you shouldn't be getting hungry. If your dieting or as I call it cutting it doesn't mean you cut back on how much you eat, it means you cut back on the bad things and increase it with veggies. Lunch and dinner should consist of 150g - 200g of protein and the rest should be filled with veggies or salad. My veggie serving is usually a frying pan full and main veggie I eat is broccoli 90-95% water it takes more calories to digest it then what your putting in.

WEIGHT LOSS + the challenge

Postby White Line Fever » Tue Nov 08, 2011 9:03 am

I've been intermittent fasting each day from after dinner to lunch time next day.
Then I have lunch which is high carb high protein.
Then dinner is no carb high protein high good fats.
And I cycle my carbs depending on exercise for day.
No exercise no carbs.
Brutal exercise high carb etc
Then each 7-10 days I have a re-feed where I eat about 5000 calories.

I don't like Celery stalks but I do like the leaves.
Interestingly it is the leaves that usually get thrown away.
I've never eaten them much because I don't like them enough to buy Celery and throw the stalks away.
So, I've never checked whether there is anything in the leaves that suggests they should be discarded.
Does anybody know?

I use the leaves in cooking. Generally combined with Italian parsley in pasta sauces etc.

Celery leaves are known to turn purple when in the presence of gases in the Praxis range of the spectrum, to which certain individuals are allergic. Upon turning purple the celery should be eaten. If nothing else, at least it would be good for your teeth.

I had to google 'praxis range of the spectrum' to get it.

I've lost weight in the last couple of months, I know I've had a good month so far, but I'm still heavier than when this started!

What's your training plan and diet like? You have to remember muscle does weigh more then fat. If you just want to lose fat then I would strongly consider cutting as much carbs out of you diet as possible

My new regime for the last month includes isometrics and using my exercise bike, but because of my age I'm building up slowly on the bike.
Result: belt moved in one notch, some loosening of skin, but I'm now up 1kg to 96.8 Kg.
I'm assuming for now that I've lost fat and gained muscle.
At least, that's what I hope it means...

Sorry havent been weighing in, been stagnating around 118.

I hit my 2011 goal of completing the 100kms Amys Ride but injured myself and been off the bike until this week. The ride was good but taught me I need to lose 10kgs quickly to make the TDU ride (139kms) a bit easier on the body, so aim is 110 kgs by 20 Jan, so am aiming for 108 kgs by Christmas, going away over the break and expect to put back on a couple.

The aim is to watch the food and up the ante with exercise. Instead of 2 long bikes rides a week, Im going for short regular/daily exercise, helps with daylight saving. e.g. Sunday I did 75kms on the bike, but MOnday night I went out for 28kms in the hills and Tuesday night I played 9 a side footy, last night I rested but back into it tonight.
