Im using
Coles perform whey protein, after seeing it shopping
i was impressed with the low sugar content per serving
Coles had 35 gram sample packs so grabbed a couple to test today

Each serve is 123 calories , I added water and ice and put it thru the blender to form it into a shake
Did the Chocolate flavor for brekky
Will have lunch
then
Will use the Vanilla flavour late afternoon

I will post the results

Having another go for new years
Lost 2kgs already - aiming for 10 in total by end of February

One thing has me smiling - I did Atkins 20 years ago and lost 18kgs in about 2 1/2 months including 4kgs in one week (lots of gym that week)
People were piling $hit on Atkins saying it was unhealthy - mainly people that had NFI how it operates
Now there's keto everywhere. (Do these pills and gummy bears actually work?)

Its just unfotunate Atkins is no longer around to give them the bird

I should probably jump into this thread as well.

About 5 years ago I went from 115 to 82, and settled around 85, which I was happy with.
Well, over spring I shot up to high 90s and the Xmas/NY period has seen me hit 101.

Time to take it seriously again.

Im still on my journey, its been up and down for a few reasons but have been going to the gym regularly (3-4 times per week) but actually trying to get it up to 5-6 times a week, even if shorter sessions. Still haven't weighed myself but still feeling a lot better, my nutrition is where the work needs to be done and Im on to that now although getting on a cruise ship for a week in 2 weeks time isn't going to assist, however I will be using the gym on the ship and the walking deck.

Im usually pretty good when I have a goal ahead of me and my golf trip in March is the carrot I need, we will be walking 10-12 kms per day so I want to be able to do that pretty easily by then as I won't enjoy the golf if Im struggling fitness wise. The Happy Valley reservoir is on my doorstep so my goal by early Feb is walk about that (11kms with lumps) and then do that consistently throughout Feb. Im doing 4-5kms OK at the moment.

If you are close to HVR, you would be close to O'Halloran Hill reserve (the north side of majors rd, not south side). Have a walk around there mate, the hills are steeper than HVR and you'll get better fitness from those trails. Just watch out for the MTB riders
Even the south side of Majors (Glenthorne) can be reasonably hilly in parts.

Yeah I know those OHH trails well from MTBing, but I only go there in winter, way too many danger noodles for my liking at this time of year!

Im yet to do Glenthorne, might do some walking there where the trails are much wider

woke up with COVID this morning so a few days off unfortunately.

Down by 3kgs this morning
Down by 4 by next Tuesday (2 weeks) is a good result
Experience shows I will lose another 2 kgs then plateau
That's when the drastic action needs to kick in to get it moving again

Bugger sorry to hear.
Yeah the nope ropes in some of those sections of OHH are prolific, especially the sunny side of "50 shades of clay"

A few tips that worked for me (101kg down to mid 80s)

1. Get comfortable with being hungry. You don't have to eat every time you feel hungry. I found that once I got over the initial shock, it was almost more comfortable being hungry than not.
2. Start your exercise moderately... go for a walk a couple times a week, up the distance and frequency during the next weeks/months. Throw in a run every now and then.
3. Do some body weight strength exercises, this will burn more calories than your walk.
4. Reduce/eliminate the grog intake.

The discipline will come when you see results. Don't weigh yourself daily. Do it once a week at the same time of day with the same amount of clothes on (or none before a shower for examples). Once you start to see results, it will spur you on to keep going.
At the end of the day, its calories in needs to be less than calories out. No other science to it.
