Yup, same experience. Wasn't long into my story that GP was convinced...

How long before returning to exercise?
The literature I've been reading suggests two weeks until you can run again.
I've done some work on getting my summer body and am keen to keep up my exercise regime so I can wear my bikini down at the Bay in the warmer months, so I'd like to return to running/riding my bike as soon as possible and two weeks feels too long.
Speaking of riding, how long until the chap is in good working order again?

Not sure on the exercise side of things, I can't really remember. I gave mine a solo test run 5 days after the operation, that was fine....I was on the job the day after that.

Nice to know.

Now, killing any pain afterwards with a bottle of scotch is inadvisable, I'm guessing?

Some blokes (read "heros") say they were back using the chap within 24 hours. I personally couldn't see that happening.

I'd say running or cycling would be 5-7 days and similar or perhaps less for any crotch related relaxation exercises. I can only say this....you'll know when he's out of order. ;)

I want to run now. But I reckon I'll give it a couple more days.
My surgeon was pretty good. We had the most urbane conversation as he did his job and his stitch work was very tidy.
And...a bottle of Ballantines was purchased ;)

I was surprised by how little everything hurt afterwards. There was a little pain but nothing too substantial. I only had two lots of panadol.

Here you go, guys:

Ever wondered about a vasectomy but were too afraid to ask? World Vasectomy Day will hit Adelaide on Friday, 18 October, so there’s just over a week until you have the chance to find out all there is to know – and more...
On World Vasectomy Day, 17 men will PUT THEIR BALLS ON THE LINE to save the planet and they’ll do it in front of a live studio audience in association with national science communication organisation: RiAus.
Meet legendary Florida-based vasectomist, Dr Doug Stein, who will perform the vasectomies, while fielding questions from a live Adelaide audience and an international online audience (hosted by RiAus Director, Dr Paul Willis). Dr Stein will be also be joined by Australian ‘brother vasectomist’, Dr Nick Demediuk (aka Dr Snip).
A diverse gathering of thought leaders will participate in all three sessions throughout the day to consider the social, political, cultural and ethical issues raised by World Vasectomy Day and by Dr Stein’s mission to save the planet, one vasectomy at a time...
• Session One: 1-2:30pm – Nuts and bolts – the techniques of no-scalpel surgery
• Session Two: 3-4:30pm – To snip or not to snip – the myths, social stigmas and fears associated with vasectomy around the world
• Session Three: 5:30-7pm – Politics of population – the implications of human sustainability. Can we really cap population growth?
Eminent guests will include best-selling author Prof Paul Ehrlich (The Population Bomb) and other leading voices in the debate on human population.
Men around the world are volunteering to step up to shoulder the responsibility of family planning and dedicate their vasectomies to lifting the burden from their family, community and the planet. The goal is to undertake 1,000 vasectomies across 25 countries.
World Vasectomy Day is the creation of Oscar-nominated and Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Jonathan Stack, who while setting out to tell his own story about getting a vasectomy, met Dr Stein and, together ended up making a film about population on the planet. The Vasectomist is produced by Stack’s New York-based Gabriel Films and Sydney-based Smith&Nasht, founded by Simon Nasht and Dick Smith and will have its World Premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival on 16 October.
EVENT DETAILS: World Vasectomy Day
Date: Friday, 18 October 2013
Times: Three sessions 1-7pm (multiple vasectomies in each session)
Bookings: Tickets essential from www.riaus.org.au/wvd

Well that was a doddle. The only salient difference between that and a visit to the dentist is that I could actually hold a conversation during the procedure. The only disappointment is that he didn't say "now you might feel a small prick" when he went to inject the anaesthetic.

Now let's see if I feel so chipper when the anaesthetic wears off. Ice cubes on standby.

Bag of frozen peas mate.

Oh and another tip. I found wearing speedos held the chaps a bit better than just jocks.

But won't the peas spoil the flavour of the scotch?

But seriously - good tip. The peas have had a couple of workouts; haven't needed the panadol yet. I have a persistent sensation of having been kicked in the balls five minutes ago...

I had that feeling for more than a week.... although that was probably more to do with the cyst the took off the nut than the V that was done while they were in there
