Im entered in the Gold Coast halfie and ive done a 15+ks run every week for the past six weeks backed up with a12k run two days later and an 8k run two days after that. Did my first ever 20k run tonight in 2.01.53. On race day ill be hoping to go under six minutes per k if i can. A sub two hour time may just be out of reach but finishing is the main goal.

**** that. Don't have the time to train. The Mrs cracked it with the training I did for the Halfie. Might be coaching a Junior Cricket Team this Summer so will devote my time to that.

Will probably continue to do one or two runs a year. Doing the Ippy Park2Park in three weeks. Only a five k race but hills everywhere.

How is everyone's running going?.
10 weeks till Melbourne marathon and training is full on at the moment 70-80kms a week.
A few sore spots in the body nothing serious but just have to tough it out for another 6-7 weeks and then tapering starts :)
Doing the Adelaide Half in preparation so looking forward to that.
Doing the corporate cup as well and always enjoy that run.

Rolled my ankle Tuesday night when I wasn't concentrating and was changing the volume on the running playlist... Had made it 100m from home... then hobbled back...

Seriously stupid thing to do...

I have three events to prepare for at the moment
Corporate Cup 8.15km - starts today actually. Will be using this as an excuse for an extra mid week training run.
City Bay 12km - On track for a time of around 54 minutes...maybe 53 at a stretch. Managed to do a 10km in 44:34 yesterday so quietly confident.
Yurrebilla 56km - Ramped up training for this over the last couple of months with 14km trail run Wednesdays and 25-30km run Sundays. throw in the street training of 1-2 x 10-12km runs and I think I am right (fingers crossed).
