My mate at work who finishes 3 bottles of Bundy a week..

A truck yard in the Port had a live in resident/employee. He lived in a van on the site and would pop around to the now closed Colac on pay day for 4 x 30 pack of VB and 3 x bottle of Bundy and would be back every week to restock.

Wow, that's ridiculous.

A Rigger at work drinks a carton of beer every 3 days.

I knew a guy who drunk a carton every single night, turned up for work everyday and you wouldn't have known he was still pissed/hungover.

Felt sorry for him.

bloke I know use to drink 18 beers a night, he had a theory if he drank anymore he wouldnt be able to leave early enough in the morning for work. For every extra beer he had over 18 meant he left half an hour later for work.
Every few months he would get gout and stop drinking for a while then slowly would creep back into it.

Even though thats excessive drinking, I wouldnt consider him an alcoholic.

To me an alcoholic is someone who's drinking starts to impact other parts of there life. Family, friends, work etc.
Im pretty familiar with them aswell..

When my second daughter was born she had to stay in the hospital for three months. My wife and eldest daughter stayed in Adelaide with her. I would spend five days of the week back in the Riverland on my own, going to work, keeping our house tidy and trying to keep on top of the emotional rollercoaster we were all on. I have never drunk as much as consistently as I did during that period. As a result of that time, I now drink spirits. Alcohol helped me get through that period. I know that if I had spent another month like that, I probably would have been an alcoholic.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.
