Mate, I had an ankle reconstruction about 6 weeks ago. Seriously thinking of not touching alcohol for the entire recovery period. Obviously I couldn't drink for medical reasons for a couple of weeks now seriously thinking going dry for the lot....

This is how I know you don't know what you're talking about. Stores can't reject BN because BN have always refused to do contract manufacturing for anyone. This pissed off stores because BN are able to sell product at a wholesale price direct to the consumer.

Nuff said.

Not true. I know of 3 stores in Adelaide and 2 interstate that have had offers from BN to sell their products. They only say "they refuse" because no one will touch them. 1 of those stores I was there when he opened the package from BN.

I'll say it again, they've never done contract manufacturing and never will. This is the real reason they have a bad name in the retail industry, because nobody can retail protein at wholesale prices. BN are being considered as selfish for not contract manufacturing to the retail owners.

For a company that 'no one will touch', they seem to be doing a good job of expanding under such adverse circumstances!

@carey you fat bastard! jumped on the scales this morning after your tale of woe had me worried. I have lost 7kg

Still only minor changes to the diet but still chug down soft drink regularly but increased the fruit intake and introduced a new Schweppes product flavoured soda water. Oh and not a drop of Alcohol........

Getting there slowly. Get the bloody boot off on the 28th. I'm guessing gym work first up to build up some lost strength and get some flexibility back.

Still has noticeable swelling every now and then....

Simplicity
Eat sMALler meals
MiniMAL booze and soft drinks
Raw food
Calorie counting
So far so good , good old fashioned weight losing methods

There are a couple of products out there
Been studying the form guide

GARCINIA CAMBOGIA
Recommended dose : Take 2 capsules a day for optiMAL results

AFRICAN MANGO
Twice a day before meals

Any FEEDback on those 2 products anyone ?

PS
Booney
How will Beer help ?

After having a look at the 2 I wouldn't waste my money. They have made a name for themselves off a Dr Oz recommendation. It seems every week Dr Oz has this new magical pill. After reading a couple of articles these 2 products seem to be on the same lines as most of Dr Oz products. They have little research to back up their claims. They also don't have any long term research, meaning long term side effects are unknown.

GARCINIA CAMBOGIA
Tried it for about 5 days
For whatever reasons it made me even more hungry
Sacked

AFRICAN MANGO
Tried for 3 days
Did reduce cravings by about 10-25%
Maybe prolonged use might have been more significant

I've tried several appetite suppressants over the years
Would have to say African Mango is about the 2nd best I've tried

DUROMINE
Dare I bring this into discussions !
Without doubt the best of them all
Tried them in 1983 !
Yes they worked, but found it hard establishing sleeping patterns
Eventually took them at Breakfast times
Doctors warned me about Duromines negatives, so went off them

Gone back to all the basics
SMALler meals , better food choices etc etc
Maccas and HJs, for the time being , will have to weather the storm !

The whole point of my argument on Duromine is exactly what has happened to you. Duromine did it's job, but it never taught you how to further your weight loss once you finished the course. You don't need the appetite suppressants, basically you have to suck it up and get through the first month. I guarantee once you passed that you won't have problem continuing with your weight loss. One big tip for you is water and plenty of it. Drink 1 glass directly before you eat any meal, when ever you get hungry through out the day drink a glass of water. Also chewing gum, have a piece about half an hour after a meal.

Good work Mal.

I've managed to lose 3.8kg so far since I began trying to lose some more weight.

I have an app on my phone "myfitnesspal" which has a food and exercise diary, i've found it very usefull, you can just scan the barcode of the foods you buy if you can't find it in a search which saves some time and effort.

It also gives you a breakdown of the nutritional information you have consumed, and provides recommedations

I'm still a pat fig
Aiming for 114 by the end of the month

Did try African Mango a while ago as an appetite suppressant
Might try it again as of tomorrow

Still have late night cravings for food
The GP suggested Psyllium Husk for satiety late at night
Will get some tomorrow as well , see if that works

I'm starting to have some success again and have just got under the 95Kg hurdle again for the first time in a couple of years.
I call it the "Neanderthal diet" - just meat, vegetables, fruit, and nuts. There are no magic foods, pills, or preparation methods.
If I'm still peckish in the evening I have some more veges or an apple.

I consulted an Endocrinologist early this year about marginally high sugar and cholesterol levels and on his advice cut out most of the carbs and fatty foods in favour of raw fruit and more (cooked or uncooked) vegetables. Sugar and cholesterol levels are significantly lower.

I've also given up soft drinks for un-sugared tea or coffee, and the occasional beer or glass of wine (or two) when out to eat with friends.
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

2 weeks into a cut at the moment looking to drop body fat % down from 10 to around 7-8% for my overseas holiday. Looking to cut for another 1.5-2 weeks

Going with a high protein/extremly low carb diet (not zero carb)

Only carbs I'm getting is from a 1/4 of a cup of basmati rice for lunch and about 10g of carbs in my post workout protein shake plus very minimal in sauces etc

Misses has been great at home so my energy levels are sitting ok.

Lettuce is my best friend, have replaced my normal rice and pasta meals with lettuce, meaning I can still eat some of my favourite meals such as taco, chilli con carne and chinese

Living off lettuce, eggs, lean mince, chicken breast, broccoli, cottage cheese, low carb protein bar, black coffee, raw nuts

One of the best investments I ever did was a mincer. Buy rump steak and cut all the fat off and mince my own. Only thing I would suggest is to make sure your taking a good multi vitamin.
