LIFE AFTER DEATH ?

Anything!

Postby Sojourner » Thu Jan 04, 2007 1:23 pm

Hello Royal City,

The whole evolution - Creation debate is one that I have never gotten into, I have read stuff from the Creation movment and I have read Ian Plimers book - Lying for God the Creation Science movement, yet both groups seem to contradict one another. It doesnt bother me if people accept either as fact, I would probably hedge my own bet on the side of creation though as I dont feel I have seen enough to prove otherwise, - the missing link for example.

I would be interested to know if you have read Lee Strobels book in the light of your own research and what your thoughts are on it though?

Without wanting to troll - wouldn't that be bloody obvious? They're arguing different sides of the debate!

So many fields have advanced so far over the last 2000 years, yet so many people take one particular text at its word without question.

The author claims to have heard this story from departed souls also, and goes on say that spirits actually have the choice to return to this Earth.
Worth a read if you are asking questions about what happens when we pass on.

Where would I be able to purchase the book The Other Side by Sylvia Brown :?:

Those who have faith in the bible would believe that the lessons and principles relate to the nature of mankind and are relevant at any point in time

Naturally both are on the opposite sides of the debate! :D

Yet when you look into both groups, both are able to go a good job of claiming proof that proves their point. It then becomes a vicious circle and you usually end up where your bias was in the first place.

I think any big bookstore would have it Mal. I am in Japan, and only heard about it because my wife purchased a copy in Japanese and really recommended that I read it too, so I had my mum send an English one over. I think she bought it at Angus and Robertson in the mall.
What I liked about the book was that as well as being spiritual, all the pieces seemed to add up. It tended to agree with other theories and old traditions also.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

I went to a private religous high school and of course religion was a compulsory subject and the topic of death came up one day during a whole year level session. Unsure weather to believe the story or not but it involved the teacher who shared the story of her personal experience but it involved being cliniclly dead for a few minutes (cant remember exactly) during child birth. she said that there was a 'white light'. (so the movies have got something right for once :D ) she aparently hated bright lights so she turned back. Probalbly should believe it as she once was a nun and they never lie........... do they?

I don't pretend to have an answer for this one but it does get me thinking sometimes how this planet and animal (including human) life was created and whether the purpose of life is for generation after generation after generation, etc, etc, etc to keep reproducing for an event that is happening heaven knows how far into the future. It just seems amazing that something like nature can just interlock so precisely for everyone and nearly everything to keep maintaining an existence.
