Trippy flavours

Postby OnSong » Tue Jul 27, 2010 2:45 pm

Chewing down on a bag of Snakes Alive today and noticed the flavours are all different.
In a bag, I would imagine the basic flavours were:

Red: Raspberry
Blue: Blueberry
Orange: Orange
Green: Lime
Yellow: Pineapple

BUT

On the packet it states the flavours as:

Red: Strawberry
Blue: Blackberry
Orange: Apricot
Green: Lemon
Yellow: Pineapple

If I hadn't read that, I would have eaten them not knowing the change in flavour.
I'm certain that there is an element of flavour that is based on mental perception.
The brain is tricked easily.

Another example of trippy flavours, is that Sprite is officially labelled as lemon and lime flavour.
Thus the green and yellow logo:

Anyone got any other anecdotes of flavours that have tripped you out*??

You wanna be tripped out by your taste buds?

Eat the berries of Synsepalum dulcificum and then tuck into a lemon.

The lemon tastes sweet.

The berries turn sour to sweet.
