I actually don't see the way the roads are set out in Perth as being a problem, I'd say that it's good planning and in most cases the houses are well away from the main roads but that is only my opinion.

FACT- Adelaide's roads and public transport is crap. There used to be tramways running everywhere but all but one has disappeared.

Eventually when the Northern Expressway opens, there will be a lot more traffic on Port Wakefield Road, especially trucks.

Why?
The trucks have been coming down Port Wakefield Rd, South Rd Extension, Grand Junction Rd for years, since the first part of the expressway opened it has got a lot of them off of the top end of South Rd and Grand Junction Rd. Grand Junction Rd is already alot better with a lot less Road Trains on it.
I can't see how it will increase trucks on Pt Wakefield Rd, they already come down there now to get to the Port, Wingfield and Regency Park, and those heading further South.

The trucks that come from the Riverland and NSW will go through there instead of Main North Road.

Most allready do, it's much quicker turning off the Gawler bypass, traveling through Angle Vale than stopping at all the Red lights on Main North Road.

Angle Vale and Heaslip Roads are both single carriageway, the express way will give road users an opportunity to over take and not have to be held up at the stop sign at the end of Heaslip Rd during peak times. The only additional traffic that will use this new road is those that don't know their way through Angle Vale, mainly light vehicles.

Dissident,

I enjoy the different suburbs and driving through different areas too.

We have a simple city to understand. However it isnt so easy to get around. Perth is miles in front.

"Baby on board". Why dont you put a sign on ur car saying "adult on board" or "car stereo in use"?
